Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Desiigner is simply a cautionary, but all too familiar story on what happens when a song gets that much bigger than you.

That tat is :x

What'd he say? I couldn't get through the interview.

But dude basically owes his career to NY radio.
Pretty much said **** NY radio and that he wants more plays. He getting plays from places like Australia, this and that, but nothing in NY.

people say regionalism is dead but you still feel bad when da home turf don't mess with you.

desiigner could be 10x bigger if he put out music as frequently as thug and uzi

signing to a label was smart for panda but overall he'd be hotter if he went on an organic mixtape run

i like this tho

His last 3 joints were good. He just waited too long to put out music. He rode Panda way too long.

I'm starting to think Nedeska is eating cat. She get real uncomfortable every time sex or even a pool party is brought up. Girl is strange.

Desiigner complaining about NYC radio like he's Phresher or something :lol

All his contemporaries have passed him up. Even in his own city (A Boogie got out 3 joints on the charts right now)....they aren't relying on radio.

Desiigner was a flash in a pan, with no originality, no fan base, and no body of work to reference. Just a hot song that people initially didn't know was his...and a fake hit that was a viral residual success because of panda.

Now it's show and prove....and he doesn't know where to go...despite having a plethora of resources at his arsenal.

Trinidad James part 2. Some _'s ain't wanna listen.

she's just conservative in public and a bit nerdy

I doubt she likes chicks

but she's the type that pushy gay chicks prey on

Yup, same boat.

There's an obvious difference between YOU being hot vs YOUR RECORD being hot. Gotta solidify your fanbase. Dej Loaf, Trinidad James, I mean this is nothing new.

Takes real talent to be able to replicate a hit record. ****** get lucky all the time with a viral hit.

Dej may have the talent though
Her verse on that last Ross album was solid

lol when nadeska stared talking about "the cool is a classic" I knew she was fraud. ***** you don't listen to no lupe. Shut up

Been told y'all Nebraska likes broads. She weird as hell when sex comes up. I was dying when money said can you get some women's clothes

Going to happen a lot with labels signing artist off one single. You don't even need a mixtape/demo.

:lol

Joe and Charlemagne going at it on Twitter. Pretty interesting, Charlemagne said he'll do Joe's podcast on Tuesday night. Joe needs to do this solo, don't need to hear any of Rory corny jokes that no one laughs at or hear him ride D the whole time.

Yep. Artist development are gone and Labels need the bread so they're just out here taking advantage of these young black artists, milking their singles, then throwing them by the wayside.

Good discussion about blogs and rap music today. They're dead.

I don't think it's even intentional

I think they don't know how to handle today's music climate, so they're throwing anything at a dart board to see what will stick.
