I imagine all of those record execs are scrambling to figure out how to monetize their artists. Streaming really came and turned their world upside down.

They don't know how to market and promote artist anymore. I think a lot of it has to do with the ages of record execs, versus the ages of the 16-25 market they're trying to appeal too.

and not having real A&R's has hurt the music.

That's why every damn artist is feature driven. None of these people can carry songs by themselves. Let me get _____ because it will make their fanbase listen to this song to get streams up. None of it's authentic and you don't learn how large their actual fanbase is from that.
