This album may be Drakes last opportunity to keep his “crown” so to speak. If he drops the ball with this one….
Been saying this for a while.Yeah I don't see a "crown" or a "top guy" from this next wave that can literally shift culture (for better or worse) the way a Jay or Drake did. Like I can't see ****** clamoring for the Lil Baby verse as a career boost. I don't know if the way music is digested these days even allows for that. I think we'll see multiple "the guy(s)" for their particular lanes...but none that transcends all of them at once.
I don't see any superstars of that caliber on the horizon, the top guys from the new school don't have the same hold. There is no crown no more
lol he and kendrick were the last artists to have that type of “top rapper(s) in the game” feel and that ended around Story of Adidon + Scorpion being mid back to back along wit new dudes like Travis and The Baby’s reaching new heights + Kendricks absence
It seems like Kendrick is finna Wayne > Drake Baby Keem tho
IMO Drake been putting out lukewarm **** since Views…
They were grooming Chance to be “that guy”
Thankfully, people realized he was never it
Man this one of my favorite future tracks… This **** always make me think of Nipsey

Drake's run won't be topped. Even in his late years when people in here are saying he fell off he had 2018 run with God's Plan, Look Alive, Sicko Mode, In my Feelings, Nonstop and took over an entire year. The most desired feature for any act is still Drake, and he still smoked recent looks on Migos, Lemon Pepper, and Seeing Green for example.
The young artists who had some promise to take the lane versatility wise passed away,. XXX, Juice Wrld, maybe Pop Smoke. I don't think Lil Baby has enough crossover appeal to do it.

When he get in that introspective bag….outstanding. This a sleeper from that tape to. Perfect way to close out
“Your attitude displaying jealousy, my doggy”!!
XXX and Juice were extremely versatile. XXX had vocals, bars, pop songs, trap songs. He even did a track in Spanish. Not to mention he had the cultural influence that a Kodak or Baby doesn't quite have. People were killing themselves when he died, and he was only 20,21.Baby better than them xxx, juice wrld and pop smoke. Them dudes wasn’t versatile at all. They made emo festival music.
Baby is traditional and just better.
Kodak, lil baby and NBA are the guys. NBA and Kodak not even 25 y/o yet
There’s no need for the “everyday, ordinary guy” type rapper anymore. This isnt the 90s or 2000s where gangster rap was the predominant style.
Chance, Kyle, Drake, Kanye etc types are commonplace nowadays. You don’t necessarily need some street rep nowadays with al this snitching being acceptable nowadays.
We got rappers making tik toks bruh.
We live in a completely different type of world than 2004 and 2009 when Kanye and drake emerged.

25 and 7 years in is already old, by 25 Kendrick Drake, Wayne, etc were already on top of the world.
Larry june’s vibe is straight frisco style. Having fun, macking at these beezies and not taking ourselves too serious. Good jobPlease name some other than Larry June (and maybe he doesn’t even fit that label; I rarely listen to him because he seem like knockoff Dom to me)
