Mal & Ak are NOTHING alike as far as their opinions go 
And as far as Rory talking about impact something had i don't see the issue, i'm 29 & vividly remember the "impact" Vol 2 had, or the impact DMX/Ruff Ryders had... whether it came from what the hustlers were listening too, to how much a song was on radio, to how the artist were talked about by the older cats, Changes in fashion etc etc.
I think that seems more difficult now because generations in hiphop seem so divided now, but this wasn't always the case. a lot of the rap music i grew up on as a kid was the same rap music that was being listened to by the older cats & making an impression on them.
