Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Wrong event for that...

Hopefully Cardi doesn’t mess up the corporate America bags, she’s come way too far at this point.

Damn man, I was at work all day and got caught wild off guard at that Mac Miller news like 20 minutes ago :smh: |l

I can't be mad at Cardi's willingness to really handle issues on front street. I have a hard time not standing behind people that make ___s stand tall on internet energy in real life.

I'm rooting for ol' girl though so someone needs to stop making it possible for her to pull **** like this.

cardi is cardi.

the moment she isnt herself is when “they” turn on her and move on to a younger version.

Agree w/everything you said. The Ariana / Pete Davidson thing probably was really tough.

I feel like what you mentioned, the "Sex, drugs, and rock and roll" life which has always been around, has made a huge mark on my Hip-Hop generation.

Hip-Hop is the new rock and roll, and these young guys obsession w/nostaliga and the idealized rock and roll image, has guys diving into drug use to recreate the hip-hop version of the rock and roll aesthetic and they get hooked in the process.

That's not to say that they aren't going through things, because I'm sure they are, but the image is a part of it for sure.

the silent thing no one wanna acknowledge is how casual hip hop makes pill and opiate use since wayne/gucci then weeknd then future and once the soundcloud generation hit the **** became literal trendy buzzwords that ****** just say. can trick kids under 18 into thinking this **** aint a big deal if these dudes are casually doing it and not only living but living an “enhanced” life.

or glorifying using these substances as a solution to emotional problems.

nobody wanna talk about it its always too soon when really when one of these ****** die we should consider it too late.

****** literally tricking themselves into being junkies for an aesthetic and lack of a real subject matter.
