Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Not everything popular or something you like is a classic.

You guys totally overuse and misuse that word.

wavycrocket wavycrocket probably thinks Future has four classic albums and three classic mixtapes

and so every album Drake has put out is classic, if the determinate for a classic album are hits and popular songs. And Drake is a hell of a lot better rapper than Nelly.

Werd. Scamming ain’t hustling. Nor is prostitution.

At least we can’t say they (or just the one member) don’t rap about what they do. Saw a post of one of them talking about they used to “hustle back in the day” (which is only like 2 years ago since I don’t think either chick is older than 23), but didn’t know that “hustling” was credit card scamming :lol

Commercially their runs were around the same time for a similar length. Luda lasted a little longer and got those F&F checks coming.

Overall its gotta be Luda. He could hit that switch when he needed to actually spit. I can't think of one verse from Nelly that had me impressed. Luda snapped on this..

Future does have classic material though

Stunting with other people’s money (the ones who make an honest living) is scum, bottom of the scrap heap living. You can’t brag while having stolen goods. That make you lame.

I skip at least 30% of Country Grammar, probably closer to 50% of it but he got classic joints. Songs I play all the time that are timeless.

EI
Tip Drill (personal classic)
Country Grammar
Dilemma
AF1s
Greed, Hate, Envy
Where the Party At?
My Place with Jaheim (personal classic)
Ride Wit Me was huge, I never liked it though but that's probably a classic.

He got classic records but not a album in my book.

Does a YouTube song video with 100+ million views make it a classic? Does a song with less than 300k views on YouTube make it classic? We need clarity. (This is YouTube era music btw)

Not songs that were out before 2007. I wouldn’t expect songs from past acts, to have that many views
