Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Objectively speaking, if we’re keeping it a buck, quite a few things said by Push is still speculation at this point.

There’s no proof that there was an adidas deal involving a kid. No proof that the kid is Drake’s. No proof that a kid was part of the rollout.

The most substantial thing to come from the diss was the blackface picture. That’s undeniable fact. Might as well let the rest play out.

We know enough from the statement and what he didn't say.

Ruined his whole rollout

Sooooo he is not a dead beat dad?

And he planned to let the world know about the situation.

When it comes to the kid, I really don't know which way the slander should be going at Drake. Seems like a non-issue if this is really the case.

Honestly as the dust settled, this does little to hurt Drake. We just in the heat of the moment because that diss was mad hard and some folks want drake out of here. My god that diss is too fire

Even with us clowning on it, he already cleaned up the blackface ****. That's already fading and not the dominant topic. The only thing that will stick is the baby ****

Honestly, even with the damage this caused, Drake can still escape with a W in the long run. The Duppy track is getting folks to believe in dudes pen again. And the baby **** is just good material for his album

What's gonna come out of this if he doesnt respond is that Pusha won, and people are gonna attribute that to well that's Pusha. But holy ****, The story of Adidon was just mean. I hope there's a bonus version of his album with three more tracks with that being on it

My ***** :pimp:

Dude just had a picture of him in blackface surface and his fans are ready to move on. Nothing matters man. People value good music over literally everything

For real, Kanye just openly supports a bigot and Alt-Right movements wearing MAGA hats and everyone gobbled up his project Daytona like nothing happened :lol
No one cares anymore

I have a hard time believing the album Scorpion was gonna be the album to reveal he has a kid by a soft core solo porn chick. That sounds like more damage control . Now revealing your son as the same time your shoe is dropping as a way to piggyback, I can fully believe that

Probably cause Pusha > Kanye. I don’t even pay attention to Kanye’s verse on the album, I picture Rhymefest or GLC rapping instead

To be honest I don't this hurts drake at all. Its funny for the time being but good music overrules all.

Since when we talk about the longterm effects of disses?

Neither of them will really be hurt by this in their careers overall. I do think Drake should take a lot more heat for the blackface considering how much he tried to avoid the topic throughout his whole career. Just obviously calculated with when he does and doesn't choose to speak up on issues that effect him (enough to sit in blackface for art) or don't effect him.*shrug*

It is what it is, though. Rap battles are pure entertainment value. There's not much to break down.

Real talk.

Pusha brought the black face thing to light and it is a real issue, but Push a hypocrite too. His mans and producer is outchea cosigning white Supremacy and he seems fine with it.

In the breakfast club interview Pusha that blackface thing is bigger than rap, and he is right. But if you want to be a moral authority on such things, check your mans too.

Rap wise, for sure but Kanye produced the entire project. The album is a joint effort, down to Kanye even choosing the album cover and songs :lol

Everyone is saying the production and beats are hard, etc :lol

This is a good point. Noticed how much Push thought about his words before he spoke on it. He tried to separate himself, but not. That's the problem with these particular issues (Trump, blackface). There's no room for ***** footing around it and trying to placate both sides of the argument. Speaking for myself, all that does is turn off both sides.

So yeah, the hypocrisy is crazy when you think about it. Didn't look at it that way.

Imagine if 40 was wearing MAGA hats. What would people think?

Oh no doubt. I’m actually surprised that the beats were good since Kanye’s beats have been the equivalent of Eminem’s flow for awhile now. I also don’t plan on entertaining the next Kanye solo though
