Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Sexy Lady is the only Go Go song I ever liked. That song should have been huge. The Pac sample is the only reason I gave it a chance. Need the OG version on Apple Music.
i concur not from dc but got introduced in college and this still gets play today that and bunny hop shout out to texas

Not arguable

and La Di Da Di was on Doug's project

bonus

Correct. I was going to go back and correct my post but rocked with it.

I did omit Hey Young World, a Teenage Love, etc.

I might have bought a bootleg tape under the subway of the album. It was incredible.

Before UMG created the attack of the clones, it was so nice that every artist had their own lane. Rick was a story teller. Probably one of the best ever in hip hop.

His second album after the stint in prison just happened to occur after/around the Chronic, Doggy Dogg World, the Diary, Illmatic, Ready to Die, etc.

I wanted to go there. Based on the time there are some rappers from back in the day that might clear.
98-99 DMX might clear too if all this was in a years time. 2 albums, killing features, movie
98 Master P multiple projects, movie, short NBA stint in the end(99)
95 BIG got all the awards and accolades, was everywhere…features, Martin, The Show, music was being played everywhere
99 Juvie 2 classic projects (400 Degreez Nov 98, Guerrilla Warfare), booty shaking anthem that still reigns supreme til this day, killed that Down Bottom feature
Run DMC 85 through 86 first hip hop platinum, one of the biggest if not the biggest crossovers in history, has everybody rockin Adidas
I was thinking 90 LL but I think his biggest year was probably 88

I feel like I’m playing a sports game, putting a team of legends together lol
96’ Pac was unprecedented. He had just released the first double album in rap music history that was absolutely murdering the charts, hit after hit (including two#1 hits). He was filming two movies. Getting ready to start his own label. And then he made 7 Day Theory which went #1 making him the first rapper ever to have two #1 albums the same year. If we go back to Me Against The World, basically THREE #1 albums in a year and a half. ALL at the age of 24-25. Just imagined if he survived. He was going to dominate the rap game for years to come.

It’s crazy they wasted three of Pac’s songs on a garbage double disc soundtrack.

Made N, Starin Through My Rearview and Lost Souls.

Pac was in a zone, at his prime. So got damn sad we lost him. Crazy that he passed and people raided houses for music and Death Row didn’t have his **** properly stored. We should have had better albums after he passed. Not Makaveli 1–16 and sounding like ****.
Life’s So Hard too, which was originally recorded for Murder Was The Case.

I didn't know Andree 3000 had a separate solo deal and a Outkast deal

It seems crazy when I hear dudes like him and Jada still under contract after all these years.
