Even if he had, I question your knowledge of the genre if you couldn’t see TPAB was a very different and unorthodox hip-hop album, especially in comparison to anything from Future or Drake in 2015 (which in the case of drake wasn’t even hip hop). That’s why it got critical praise. It was wildly unique. It brought excitement to the genre and definitely brought back old school heads. Nothing about those pop dance projects from Drake was new or remotely worth discussing in the same sentence as TPAB.
We all saw JMB pushing for Drake months ago and pumping up that kind of BS music. He even talked about it in the context of how many hotties it brought out in the Houston area. Some of us don’t forget.
