Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Even before joe signed with the roc, i felt like it was the perfect label for him. He just fit what they were doin. Moreso than cam n them tbh.

Was glad when i heard he signed but **** was already falling apart by then…

ROC Ent, hahahaha. Joe and Twista was on ROC for like a month. It’s wild that Joe’s rap career wasn’t bigger.

Is that Jada’s son in the chair?

LL’s album is what I was scared of it being. Aggressive, extra lyrical, tough flow. Needed to slow it down and easy up. Couple songs were cool. Nas verse was hard. Eminem had a line that made me laugh but I probably won’t play the album again.

Laziness, being cheap or not knowing any better.

A lot of these chicks and dudes with veneers and gold have ****** up teeth. It takes a lot of time and money to get your teeth fixed and they aren't getting braces.

They either file your teeth down or just put veneers over your teeth, which is why a lot of these IG chicks and rappers have big *** teeth. Your teeth under can't be properly taken care of and all the plaque and bacteria just build up. Your oral health can also eventually affect your regular health.

A lot of these BBL chicks and dudes are going to look like **** in 10 or 20 years.

Many Black men are already hesitant to visit the doctor, let alone the dentist. But gum disease is a serious issue, it can affect more than just your teeth. It can also leave your breath smelling like a toilet.

Joe could rap but he doesn’t have the stardom look aka “the it”.

I disagree about Joe.

Joe came out and had the big singles, the friendly club singles and had all the girls on him. Joe’s problem was his singles being released on soundtracks before his album dropped which caused low sales for him. His album probably goes platinum if those singles were only on his album and Def Jam makes sure to get a second album from him. Instead, Joe beefs with Def Jam and they don’t let him out of his deal for years.

Kid Capri said DMX changed his voice after he got signed. I never knew that.

I thought this was common knowledge. I think people are just finding themselves as artist. Dudes are 20.

People do what's popular or what they're influenced by, then labels tell them no constantly because they sound like someone else. Well, it used to be like that. If they're good enough they're able to pivot and make their own lane.

Joe wanted to rappity rap and didn't care about sales or making popular songs. He wanted to make the music he wanted to make, not the label.

That in itself to me means he never had it to be a popular artist to me. A label is going to push you to make music that will sell to make them money.

Man, when Dame added Samantha Ronson I knew the Roc wasn't going to be around much longer. I always saw through the ******** and beyond the boss ****, Dame always wanted acceptance and to be in certain rooms
