Struggles against Atlanta and Cleveland preventthem from being ranked 2

5. 2005 Spurs Consistently Good also
6. 2004 Pistons

Great team but not on the level of the 2001 and 2002teams.
8. 2007 Spurs Did their thing but had some very favorable luck go their way during this run
9. 2000 Lakers
pimp.gif
A Portland choke job prevented them from being thebiggest SMH story ever
10. 2006 Heat

4. 00 Lakers
5. 08 Celtics
6. 02 Lakers
7. 05 Spurs
8. 09 Lakers
9. 06 Heat
10. 07 Spurs

Pistons team is top 3...they came out the east when all eyes were on the west, definitely think their looked past as being such a great team..

I'll try to rank them later but I don't think that Boston team is top 5 and I'd probably place the '09 Lakers and the '06 Heat in thebottom 2.

But in my opinion, the Celtics should be the second worst team, because they played 7 games in EVERY series except the Finals.

The worst team is the Heat, because the Mavs were robbed. At gunpoint. Like someone already said. Wade trips 3 feet away from Dirk, and Dirk is called for afoul?

I hate when people do that.

1. 01 Lakers (just off the strength of their record)
2. 05 Spurs (a defensive nightmare)
3. 04 Pistons (most heart out of any championship team this decade)
4. 03 Spurs (knocked off defending champs)
5. 00 Lakers (fought hard to get where they were, emergence of Kobe)
6. 02 Lakers (fun to watch, bad ref jobs)
7. 09 Lakers (won against an unexperienced, jumpshooting Magic)
8. 07 Spurs (won against an unexperienced and badly coached Cavs team)
9. 08 Celtics (they struggled too much to get there and probably only won because of HC advantage)
10. 06 Heat (probably a fluke)

Honorable Mention: 2006 Referees and Heat

1. 2001 Lakers: 15-1 in the playoffs, Shaq needed 1 assist and 2 blocks to record a quadruple double in Gm. 2 ofthe Finals

2. 2003 Spurs: knocked off the 3 time defending champs (David Robinson

); Duncan needed 2 blocks to record a quadruple double in Gm. 6 of the Finals

3. 2004 Pistons: I have a lot of respect for this team. They just would not let us, clearly the best playoff teamof the decade up to that point, back into the series. Played excellent.

4. 2005 Spurs: they are the only team of the decade to defeat the reigning champs in the Finals; that has toput them in the first half of a top ten list

5. 2000 Lakers: living up to expectations is tough to do, and this Lakers team finally lived up to thechampionship expectations that began when Shaq signed with the Lakers in '96

6. 2009 Lakers: again, living up to expectations is tough to do, and after losing in the Finals and then beinghyped all year as the eventual champions, they became the eventual champions

7. 2002 Lakers: 7, 8, 9, and 10 have to do with opponents, not the championship teams themselves. The '02Lakers were definitely fortunate (*cough* lucky *cough*

) to come out ofthat Sacto/LAL series.

8. 2007 Spurs: definitely had favorable calls go their way, and they got a LeBron team that was really not aFinals team. That's not the Spurs fault, but lack of a more worthy opponent definitely hurts them in a ranking system

9. 2008 Celtics: back-to-back 7 game series and then back-to-back 6 game series en route to the Finals? I'mpretty sure they played the most playoff games of any Finals team in history. That's like the complete OPPOSITE of the '01 Lakers playing 16 gamestotal, so they're on the complete opposite end of the list (save MIA for last)

10. 2006 Heat: fluke championship; Dallas got robbed (word to Iggy in the dunk contest)

^08 celtics finished det in 6 games

tough for me to rank these since i didnt watch the spurs title runs (did anybody?)

01 lakers at the top though, everything else is debateable
