Quick eBay Seller Question

Hey guys,

I recently sold a pair of loafers for $260 on eBay. They were sold two days ago, which was when I received the payment, and I shipped them yesterday. They were listed as "free shipping," but I listed the method of shipping as expedited. I was shipping out a bunch of stuff, and although I told the USPS employee I wanted expedited for all, some shipped as non-expedited (after, I was wondering why it was so cheap

Anyways, the loafers were shipped standard, not expedited, and after checking the tracking number, the customer told me that he was hoping to get them by a certain date for his dad's birthday, and now the expected arrival date is after the birthday. I apologized, explained the situation, and said that if he wanted to return them, I'd be more than willing to pay his return shipping fee (since it is my bad, after all). He hits me back with the following, verbatim:

"I don't want to return them. I already purchased them and now waiting. What will you be able to offer me, I am disappointed right now."

I'm somewhat new to selling on eBay--I'm downsizing my closet at the moment and not someone that perpetually flips things for profit--so I don't know what a reasonable "offer" would be. Any advice? I don't want to mess up my 100% feedback, but I also don't think it's that big of a deal to wait an extra few days, so I don't want to offer too much. Much thanks in advance.

if he doesnt like it, send em back.

hes just trying to take advantage of the situation.
 
Give him back 10-20 bucks. Shouldn't be a big deal unless he wants to be a ****. But you as a seller messed up so sending him something proves it wad a genuine mistake and not u lying on ur listing.
