Has anyone in here taking there GRE and if so how hard is it?  I am a bit afraid. I am hoping to score good enough to attend CSU LONG BEACH. Going to study PT ( Physical Therapy). IF anyone has any knowledge of either the exam or the major please share.

Thank you.

Study steadily each day, and take a day off from it. PT is a tought field to get into right now. I'm try to do the same. What does your overall GPA and core course GPA look like? I would suggest volunteering at a variety of areas.

I took it around October, got a 315 or 305 on it, which all of the 4 potential colleges I was looking at thought was good for my intended major including USC Keck School of Medicine (undergrad was underwhelming so she told me I needed to "knock the GRE out the park" and was excited when I called her with the score and seemed like i was on track to being accepted), which ultimately I ended up not following through the application process anywhere because it was just too expensive for right now at $1600 a credit hour.

I didn't study at all except a few minute the day before when I finally realized they have an official study guide, even a Mac version, on their website. I did also buy a GRE study material off Groupon that is really good for $20.

Only thing that caught me off guard was the math, and I have always been excellent at math and even CLEPed out of college math, but some of this math I had literally never seen and didn't even know how to set up the problem properly other than by hand, illustrations, or even backwards from each answer to eliminate the wrongest ones.

It'a nothing objective for you to study really. You'd be more just practicing on the type of questions it asks and going slow and following directions because they will try to trick you occassionally with which one is not this thing and what I hate is pick the rightEST answer where more than one are right.

There was an essay you had to write, no idea why, didn't figure into the score any and the same with them making you copy the first page in cursive. If I retest, I'm skipping that.

Looking for some information to OP. Going to take the GRE at the end of the summer and end of the year if need be.

Suggest you check out this site

Received my BA in a unrelated field so i am in the process of taking my prerequisites. Hoping to take my exam this summer.

PT is a BOOMING field right now so it is extremely difficult to get into. Its kind of like NURSE.

I am currently volunteering too. I have two lined up.

How about you?

96% verbal, 71% quantitative, and 5.42 analytical writing

how hard is it to achieve this?

ok. got yah!….

it can be difficult , because some people aren't all to great in taking exams. especially  a time exams.

Me personality this exam scares me because it can ultimately determine my career path. getting close to my late 20s the time of playing has past.

I prepared with free GRE books from the library. They had some pretty recent ones. A friend of mine gave me a few books she had just finished using, and she took her GRE less than a year ago.

I took 2 full length practice tests and got a 314 on one and a 311 on the other.

Been studying vocab and math formulas the past few days and I'm taking another full length practice test on thursday.

Don't sweat it brah, it's not that difficult of a test.

Just google around.

The formulas and rules I would be concerned with are geometry, there are quite a few, and idk about you but I hadn't done geometry in a minute :lol

I need to memorize the stuff for % increase and decrease and ratios and proportions.

Check out magoosh and get some books man, you'll be fine.

I actually took mine today, not saturday and got a 157/154, more than the minimum that my program requires :hat

Feelin good

took a GRE prep class and tried to get into PT. Good luck that field is so competitive, make sure all your pre reqs are A & B type grades.

Volunteer at PT related things (I did the special Olympics for kids and it worked wonders for getting a job, it will help with getting into PT school) and network! Good luck, PT is an awesome field to be in.
