POWER THREAD (Sun., Starz)

Knew Omari didn’t live in the real world when he was trying to smooch Beyonce

He’s definitely box office. Was obvious in the million independent movies he was in before Power.

I thought that the show would be a springboard for some bigger budget things. He’s paid his dues and has the talent.

But now you wonder if he’s a difficult personality. Unfortunate that 50 felt the need to make a quote like that.

Not to bash anyone as I say this…YES, he has potential. YES, he has the “look”. YES, he could probably play many roles offered to him. BUT, he hasnt done jack 💩 box office level or anything remotely close to his success on power since leaving. He did a straight-to-digital movie that premiered on paramount+ a year or so ago and that movie was straight trash. I understand him being salty for not being paid accordingly based on what HE THINKS and/or valued himself and so he eventually made a business decision to leave. Sometimes in interviews, he sounds hella ungrateful but he was dead broke and homeless for a while and 50 gave him some money so get him back on his feet

Power not here without him so EYE can understand his frustrations especially after watching an entire universe get built around his performance.

Someone else could’ve been casted as Ghost and not delivered in the way Omari did causing this show to just go away.

Totally agree 💯. But he agreed to a contract and per pay episode salary. He could’ve opted out for a season and starz couldve seen if it he was worthy of a major salary increase as he wanted. Everyone could’ve handled things differently

Omari Hardwick is 50 years old… he peaked/“got on” at the wrong time. I know he was in independent movies and videos back in the 2000s and 2010s but, Hollywood and the movie industry is not the same.

Hollywood is different. The consumer base is different. He would’ve flourished in the 90s.

Omari was in the Army of the Dead movie that came out on Netflix. And he's supposed to be in the sequel. So he's done a couple of things here and there. A marvel or DC role would have definitely pushed his stardom higher.

Anyone else notice Paz playin a detective on the latest Chicago PD episode? Lol
