Ruff Ryder's was a HUGE movement, and ITs dark and hell is hot and flesh of my flesh are certified classics.
DMX did fall off, but you can't take away what he's done for the game.

Keep Ya Head Up >>>>>>>> Drake's entire music career

And I somewhat consider myself a Drake fan.

What he do? I'm young breh.

Drake doesn't have a timeless song.

What does that even mean? He doesn't have a timeless song to who? His entire catalog is timeless thus far to me. I still play SFG and records off of TML and TC and without a doubt HOWGH will end up being a timeless record. SFG is five years old and counting.

:rollin I kno it isn't NT specific slang because I've only seen it used about 3 pages ago. I hope y'all don't roll wit it
I'll stick too suspect :lol

Anyway, drake is terry cloth but he is talented. Sometimes I catch myself saying a hook or two. But he shouldn't even be spoken in the same sentence as 2pac, maybe I'm just getting old, I find myself disagreeing with a lot of late 90s 00s baby's , and I was born in 89'

It is almost cringeworthy when I think of the shoe game today.

Drake knows how to make real good music. Some of it is just too sensitive and weak though. Dude is starting to look like a **** rider too. Dude tries to be buddy buddy with every hot new rapper then his stans will tell you Drake put 'em on. :lol

No one is comparing Drake to 2Pac musically
Yeah but of course Pac stans or ppl who just skim through pgs won't acknowledge that. They have to ignore stuff like that whole thug life nonsense being an act and Pac only getting arrested until he became a rapper. Suge put the battery in his back and the gangstas embraced him so he ran with a new theme instead of mainly going with the revolutionary route he was doing before he signed to Death Row.

The comparison comes down to yall clowning Aubrey for pics he's in looking extra corny and lyrics where he runs with his simp lifestyle but acting like there aint some hard facts about Pac that if he got in a beef today he'd end up on that summer jam screen. I seen dude in a leotard dancing and singing karaoke with Jada, I got the dvd. Making bs arguments about ppl change is just plain nonsense. What happened to Pac can be compared to the kid that moved to a new place and got in with the bad kids in the hood and it got him killed.
if nelly died after nellyville he would be top 5
:rollin Noooooooooooo :lol

Disagree. But i'm a huge pac fan and love that record. I just don't think it's that blasphemous to speak of Drake and Pac in the same light and I for sure don't believe one pac song is better than Drake's entire career :lol

Drake's real big on the 48 laws of power. That's all 48 Laws right there. By kind of "taking in" his foes and enemies before they become actual enemies and threats, he alleviates the threat of them taking his place in the game. As you stated, how can anyone take his place if he's the one that "put them on"? All strategy. Straight using others which is a prime tactic in 48 laws. By using others and their buzz, the light is always on him and he never is out of the limelight.

But I do breh.

Why is it so Blasphemous to compare Drake to Pac musically? Drake makes some awesome music and is an A1 rapper. Makes some great musical decisions as far as sonics, melodies, and bar structure is concerned.

It's blasphemous cuz Pac had real substance in his music. Drake has a few of those but for the most part he's rapping and singing about the same ****. Ex gf's, struggling with fame, saving jump offs.

Did the term stan actually come from the song stan? I always figured it was older than that

Substance in music is overrated (same with movies)

As long as it's entertaining that's the most important thing

That's a naive and stereotypical way to look at his music though. While I agree that Drake is extremely narcissistic with his music, his music is not filled with saving jumpoffs and simp music. It has far more depth than that and if one were to just take a thorough listen to his catalog, one would see just that.

I am not saying Drake is better, I would never do that. I'm a huge Pac fan. Pac's versatility is incredible and partly why I'm such a huge fan of his. All I'm saying is stereotypes like the aforementioned are used to discredit Drake's music when its more than that and musically, it isn't blasphemous to put the two in the same light. They both are incredible at what they do.

And since when does making music "with substance" automatically make you better? That's not a universal criteria. That may be yours, but it isn't everybody's.

But he's not putting them on. The only people that believe that are his stans. You giving him way too much credit. Drake is just that dude that sees something and he wants to be part of it.
