honestly, i have no clue, it depends on where your at and what your doing. its definitely the weapon of choice but i do still see people carrying the M16 musket.

but my cousin is in the army dont know exactly what hes doing but i know he has a standard issue Light Machinegun and M4 assault rifle

 

hes a machine gunner

Well it doesn't matter what your job is, your going to be assigned a personal weapon i.e; M16 or M4 unless you carry the M249 . Some people prefer the M16 because of the accuracy and others the M4 because of the maneuverability
