\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

i hope its true. i love these HP wars between dodge and ford. chevy needs to fire back.

GMs been firing shots by making cars that can actually turn :lol

HP wars are cute and all, but GMs been killing the blue oval and the pentastar right now. Hell... they've been killing them for years :lol

As a muscle car enthusiast I could careless how they do at the track; I want to see improvements at the strip especially from a proclaimed muscle car. Sad seeing 30k bolt on only 50s eat up force inducted 55k camaros.

He's kind of got a point. The Camaro (and vette) are definitely outhandling anything hat Dodge or Ford are producing. That new z28 they tested against the GTR was crazy

Chevy killing them with what? Turning?

Yes... Well balanced performance cars. GM offers the CTS-V, ZL1, Z/28, Z06 and ZR1... The only car out of the other 2 that even competes is the 4th gen Viper ACR.

I love American cars and defend their poor handling all the time, but it's 2014, and consumer demands have changed. GM is the only one of the big 3 that seem to realize this and is currently making a variety of powerful cars that appeal to more than just the straight line driver. I'm interested to see what the IRS does for the new Mustang, but I'll be surprised if it can touch anything GM is doing in the handling department.

:lol and forreal GM BEEN killing the other 2 in the straight line department for YEARS.... From 74-92 Pentastar had NOTHING noteworthy until the Viper.... Ford always had the Mustang and for a long time the Thunderbird and Lincoln Mark series... sure the Ford GT made a resurgence for a year and a half ... Meanwhile GM was cranking out Camaros, Trans Ams, 442s, GNXs, Monte Carlos, Corvettes, Caprice/Impalas and even Grandpas fwd Cadillac was faster than the competitions performance oriented cars :lol.

that's cool and all, but those cars are all over 55k and if i was going to spend that much with handling being my priority i would get an m3.

the best thing about the muscle cars is the bang for your buck.

guess them coyotes gonna keep eating at the strip.

56k for the comfort, amenities, speed and handling a ZL1 offers is the epitome of bang for your buck :lol

:rollin Coyotes eating at the strip ? You say that like the LS series hasn't been king of the strip for over 10 years now. :lol

You know how many LS powered Fords there are out there ? You know rare it is to find a Ford powered GM ? :lol

im not even a ford guy so i dont see what's the point of bringing up LS engine swaps. everyone knows that theyre amazing. my first car was a bucket IROC so i have mad love for chevy.

i was speaking on the current generation of muscle cars. i go to the strips every month and i see it first hand. its sad how the camaros perform matched up against its competitors at the drag strips. the whole point of my original post is that I dont want to see bolt on 30k coyote 5.0s eating every tier of camaro.

anyways, if that svt mustang turns out to be true its going to be ridiculous ESPECIALLY if the reduction of weight happens.

GTR > anything in the price range

GTR starts at over 100k though... Crazy how much the price has gone up since its inception

55k will get you a clapped out one with a salvage title :lol

chevy is trash tho

and lack aesthetics

:lol Looks are subjective but I think everyone can agree that the C7 is better looking than anything Pentastar has come out with in the last 20 years.

:lol you brought up Coyotes at the strip so I brought up the dominance of LS motors in the 1/4. I mean... everyone knows it's older builds that dominate the strip. That's why modern GMs are trying to emphasize handling, comfort and top speed. GM is producing well engineered cars for the modern era that provide a comprehensive driving experience and go far beyond the things people used to expect an American vehicle to do... Meanwhile Ford and Chrysler are sitting in the corner playing horsepower wars like it's still 1970, wondering why nobody in the world takes them seriously.

You aren't the only person who frequents the strip and I can assure you that bolt on Mustangs are not "eating" every tier of Camaro. The Mustang LRA and weight gives is a slight advantage in the straight but a Camaro with bolt on's will beat a stock Mustang and vice versa.

I'm also curious to see what the SVT, and all the 2015 Mustangs can do, especially with the introduction of the IRS.

Oh ... and just for the record :p

Is IRS on all the 2015 mustangs? Haven't really been following the 2015. That definitely will be interesting.
