\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

:{ my feelings r hurt...

Have you broken the GTR n yet? Man id go thru a set of tires a month n that thang :smokin

Kid n my area has a highlighter orange one with black rims.. I almost pulled my car over n walked home after he flew by me growling like a rott n 3rd gear.

i can't say i have broken it in properly yet. i need to track it or at least get on a autocross to really get in on it. yeah 3rd-4th gear it has major pull, the torque really can throw you back stock. i roll in 4th on the expressway so i don't get caught snoozing when someone tries me. its really a blast to drive imo, and when you mod them its in another level. ams performance just got it to do a sub 2 second 0-60 and 60-130 in 2.8 seconds. they cracked 7's. it's an r&d shop car and a build like that would cost 1.5 times the cars price so you have to take those numbers with a grain of salt. its great platform. the VR38DETT can really take a lot.

thanks man.

1000

Quoting this pic again because the GTR is the GOAT. Great pick up! I saw one today and said to myself one day I will own one. Got any plans for it?

At the thought of some clown in an M3 or 370Z trying to challenge you in a freaking GTR!  I have so much respect for this machine, my jaw drops every time I see one, I am one of those dorks that gives a thumbs up every time I see one!

One of my favorite cars, nice pick up :hat .  If you don't mind me asking, how much was it out-the-door? 8o ...

Man not even the OTD price, insurance can easily cost you $2500-5000 for 6 months.

Brake jobs arent cheap, etc etc. Its a lot to afford, not just buy.

But if you have that kind of money to afford one, you probably have the money to make all the repairs easily.

Which makes the most reliable cars of the 3? I've done a little research on my own but I'm curious.

BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi

Any car will be reliable if you have the pockets to maintain it

Do you mean which will be the cheapest to maintain?

I paid 70 for the car and insurance only costs me $87 a month for full coverage, and that's with all the minimums set the highest 300,000/100,000. I have a good driving record and in my 30's. I have heard insurance costing that much, but 2500-5000 for six months would be a teen who already been in two accidents. I know a lot of owners and most of them don't pay over 100 a month for insurance. When it comes down to it imo is maybe since it still is a nissan and not a Ferrari, the insurance is very reasonable.

As for the brakes if you do it at the dealer they will get you like there is no tomrw. brembo is a trusted name we know and makes very good breaks and rotors, but there are many aftermarket company's that can compete and exceed their quality for this particular vehical and many others. The oem brembo system should last 40k miles + if you and not tracking the car. Aftermarket pads for the gtr can be bought for 250-350 a set.

^^ you must live in Florida or some state with cheap insurance because a GTR would not be that cheap in NY with all the limits set at the highest and a clean driving record.

I'm looking into the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, and the C-Class Mercedes.

The issue is which one will give me the least trouble. (Cheapest to maintain)

I'm in Chicago, my deductibles are 500, and 50 bucks for comprehensive. I have geico.

I have a lot of things I want to do with it mainly aesthetically, but truth be told there is a "gtr tax" for many aftermarket parts. One could venture very far down $ wise with all the possibilities. Good carbon fiber is very costly, rims are not cheap, ect. I'm happy with what it is stock though. I'm going to start adding some stuff here and their but I'm waiting to see what the refresh is looking like for the 2015 model due out next year. They are going to make some changes. Power is also an option, but I'm not use to the power it has now so no need to upgrade.

how should we define reliability tho? being able to afford the maintenance costs or the rate of maintenance required? i assume the latter..

If that's your first concern then euro might not be for you...
Indeed, looking at 2K repair bill in BMW 545 because nav screen died.  Comes with owning a luxury car, I can complain and get a less expensive car or just deal with it.  Deal with it is my choice.
