\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

Sounds good to me, I used it a couple times on an Audi sq5. It used to go through water pumps
I’m opting for the Ford Premium Care plan, which allows me to take the vehicle to any Ford or Lincoln dealership for service. Once you mentioned it, I read about recurring issues with cam phasers and transmissions, which is concerning. Looking back, I probably should’ve gone for the 2022 Tahoe RST, but I was aiming for something cheap at the moment.

After delaying the purchase of an SUV but due to my current car situation, I decided to move forward and purchased a used 2021 Expedition Limited. The price was reasonable at $39,000 with 39,000 miles, making it a comfortable investment for me at this time without loosing sleep. Initially, I chose not to purchase the extended warranty, but I’m reconsidering. The dealership quoted $3,500 for coverage up to 100,000 miles. What are your thoughts on whether this is worth it?

If they are selling you the Ford ESP Premium Care, then take it and run! The piece of mind alone is worth it. If it's a component listed in the master sheet showing all covered parts, it's covered no questions asked with a standard $100 deductible (can make the higher or lower to adjust the price of the plan). Plus if gives rental car access if the covered part keeps the car overnight, and also travel expenses reimbursement if the breakdown occurs so many miles from home. Meaning if you are on a trip, and a covered part breaks, and you have to stay the night at a hotel while they fix it. They will pay you back for that up to a certain dollar amount. 👍

Now if they are selling you some 3rd party plan, that isn't worth the paper it's written on. We ONLY sold the Ford ESP and never got into other warranty companies as those companies always found a way to NOT pay.

After asking the dealer if the warranty was through a third-party vendor, they confirmed that it was Allstate, which they described as "the best warranty" available. However, after doing some research, I decided I preferred the Ford ESP. I obtained a quote from Granger Ford for a 9-year/125,000-mile plan with First-Day Rental and Enhanced Rental coverage for $3,995. When I called my local dealer, they claimed that was only an estimate, which I doubt. They then offered me a plan for $4,100, but it only covered 6 years/75,000 miles starting from the date of purchase, unlike the Granger quote, which begins from the vehicle's in-service date.

From what I’ve read, the Ford ESP works the same no matter where it’s purchased. I'm not sure why my local dealer is presenting it differently. Both quotes are for PremiumCare, as they use the same OASIS system for records.

Are these negotiable? Maybe you still have a connection that can sell it for cost? LoL

Good to know. I have chips in my bumper as well that bother me. Have been putting off looking into finding someone to do some touch up paint on it.

I use Dr Colorchip for rock chips. I think it works pretty well and blends better than touch up paint pen.
Gotta have the patience for it though. Haven't touched up rock chips in two years, so I'm not looking forward to it in the spring/summer.

Pardon my French, but ******* DEALERS!! 🤬🤬 For that dealer to say with a damn straight face that an All-State warranty is "the best warranty" over the Ford ESP Premium is total horse****! NOTHING beats the factory backed warranty. NOTHING!!

And yes, ESPs no matter the coverage (PTrain, Base, Extra or PremiumCare) are VERY negotiable in terms of pricing. The higher they are the more profit they have. When I left, a $4k warranty had over a grand in markup easily. Some stores will sell warranties over the internet for $100 or so over cost after all the factors are added in (they should still charge $100 fee for plans sold after 12m/12k of the car in service date) as they will get money on the back side for selling so many a month. You can shop around for this. Just Google it and there should be a few chat forums where people say where they got the cheapest deal. 👍

Got my car back from the dealer this morning finally after nearly 8 weeks.

The repairs look good and my dashcam and everything else I added seems to be fine. Looks like I got a new hood - which isn't too bad as the original one had a poorly touched up scratch - I just hope the paint matches. Hard to tell today because it's raining.

Feels great after having to drive the small car I got my kids to learn to drive.

Does anyone use a wireless Android Auto adapter capable of displaying YouTube and Netflix? If so, which one do you have, and does it work well?
