I think sometimes barbers do that on purpose, do the complete opposite of what you ask for. They mess up my sideburns most of the time so usually I just go in with a full beard and tell them to leave it alone.

Yea I agree fam I think that they do..When you say go with a full beard do you mean you don't let them shape it up at all? I might have to just get my haircut and do my own damn beard for it to be like I want it to be...

They won't line up my beard unless I ask them to, I never do. I think they'd charge me a few extra bucks to do it anyway. Like you said, only you yourself knows how you want your beard to look exactly.

My barber is good and I still line my own beard up.

I have a pretty good natural cheek line, tho, so I don't really have to do much.

Finally hit 11 weeks and I'm amazed at how its filled in over the last 3 or 4.

real question. how yall get your beards lined up straight. i have horrible hand eye coordination , so i just go to the barber and get it trimmed and lined up like once a week. i grew tired of the huge beard so i just keep it at a 2 now.

Takes lots of practice. Since you keeping it at a 2 if you do mess it up it'll grow back quick and you can practice again

My dads side of the fam hair grays early so its whatever, better than going bald

Well worth it. Make a blend that is exactly what you need (growth, thickness, scent etc).

Saves hella money. I use coconut oil, castor oil, and jojoba oil. I may try use almond oil in my next concoction. Sometimes I use Beeswax which help tame the hair (uniform look).

I use beeswax with regular coconut oil when I make wax (plus an essential oil for smell)

Like you said tames all the loose hairs.

That's a pretty damn good idea fam...I might have to do that myself....Where'd you get all the stuff you needed make up the oils at?

Going to most likely get some labels and my barber said he'll put them in the shop. Sell them for $15 a oz

Will it make my stiff/shortish beard fall better on my face?

Mine is super strong and sticks out like needles and I need it to not be prickly and actually fall

Letting my beard grow out of the summer. Every time I let it grow out it never fills up; there are always patches. Just reading this page I see that oil will help with this issue. What do you guys recommend. I'm black if that matters.

For the people asking about the oils. Depending what you mix you'll get a different outcome.

Some mixes will help with growth, itching, patches, acne, dandruff, dry skin, course hair etc. it's mainly to keep your hair and skin healthy.

Major plus for me is it keeps wifey at ease. Soft beard and a scent she likes.
