I would never pay 2k for shoes so I'm biased, but you could buy a new laptop, sell the old one and probably still buy a pair of kicks with that bread, just not Jasper's lol

He did say he had a laptop he bought a few years ago that is still serving him well so obviously just like the shoes, the new laptop is a WANT not a NEED.

So really it really is "an item that isn't produced anymore and isn't going to be available all the time" versus "an item that gets updated, upgraded and a new and better version is released every 6 months to a year". Without knowing what item is which, what would you choose? Obviously the one that you have less chance of getting later on over the item that will surely be there on the shelves in a year or so or when his laptop breaks down.

You also got to keep in mind this is practically a luxury items thread, you don't have to choose the most responsible of choices so $2k shoes isn't too far fetch.

Now if for some reason LV decides to make those a general release tomorrow, then dude is screwed but I really do not see that happening.

Alp, the MacBook Pro is the most solid, well built laptop around. I have had 2 different ones and if anything happens IOU can walk into any apple store and the can make it right. My hard drive crashed. They got a new one and saved all my data. My first mac box died 2 years out of warranty, they replaced the main board for free. I tripped by some stairs and my open and running MacBook hit the ceiling and dropped 20 ft to the ground, it worked perfectly with a tiny dent in the side. My previous two laptops had mad issues, like over heating, battery stopped holding a charge, plastic case breaking, no support, etc. While they have gotten better and you do pay a slight premium. It's a much better experience and they are quicker then a windows machine with twice the specs. I am A+ certified, worked as a systems builder and computer tech as soon as I got my first MacBook I realized what the fuss was all about.

If I had to pick between two items such as those I would choose the one I'm going to use more.

It's really up to the individual in the end. I use my iphone5 everyday, more than anything I own really but I am not getting a 5s or 6 when it comes out when the 5 is perfectly fine, I'd rather spend that money on shoes or clothes or whatever else I want.

Sure a slightly better camera and slightly longer battery life is nice and if given for free I wouldn't say no but my 5 is working well so I'd put that money on something else.

I have a late 2011 MBP and its doing me justice still and probably will for many more years. No need to upgrade so I would just go with the jaspers.

Jaspers definitely. The specs on a mac are horrible. The hard drive and everything on a 1000 dollar mac is the equivalent of a 200 computer, it's sad cats pay that much just for the name and horrible technology

Honestly wish they made it glossier. Had the same problem with the Buscemi's, that when you're a few paces away they just look like untextured shoes. Sort of defeats the purpose. What'd you get the voucher for?
