Porn does a lot more harm than good and is a serious problem

Here's a website that displays peer reviewed research on how porn effects the brain, relationships and society.

http://fightthenewdrug.org

I'm 29 going on 30. Probably been watching porn since the 5th grade. Now having completely cut it out for almost 2 years I can most definitely see the negative effects it had on me subconsciously.

Appreciate the site.

Would you mind elaborating more on your experience over the last 2 years since you stopped though?
Any specific changes or improvements youve noticed?

Brain sharper?
more energy?
better sex?
etc.

I would appreciate any more information you can share.

i actually think its da complete reverse...you really want a bunch of sexually repressed psychos out here willing to rape on site cuz they haven't had a good release in forever? i say porn diffused alot more sickos than we give credit for.

Out of pure curiosity,

Is there anything that supports porn stoping ppl from doing things like rape?

I legit would like to know.

I watched porn in a damn near daily basis from 2004 - 2015. Thanks to some of the no-fap threads on here and on Reddit, I have significantly reduced my porn usage in the last year. There are definite physical and psychological consequences to porn addiction, although wth normal use I'm sure it's fine

Thanks. Will read later. Take this rep.

Before reading though, i'll say I believe that rapist watch porn and get sexually motivated and frustrated because they cant replicate what they see in porn in real life, which pushes them to rape and what not

I'm sure that has happened, but is that the fault of the pornography? What about all of the people who watched that same movie and weren't compelled to rape someone?

I had a cool little 10 days porn/fap free and snapped because Madison I_y out here fooling around in 60 FPS smh.

But I don't think it's bad in moderation. The problem is when you're out here jacking off twice a day. Or even if you can't make it through a day without jacking off.

Anybody who's gone a full 90 days without beating your meat (since you started beating your meat obviously), what happens?

I honestly think it's the opposite. Porn helps some people keep their stuff in check and prevents them from doing crazy things

I'm curious to know how many of the people who think porn is mostly harmful come from a religious upbringing

What are crazy things?
Rape incest public exposure etc etc. All those things that people want to do that aren't conventional that they can find in porn fap to it and be done with it.
Societies attitude towards porn is a problem if anything. People who watch it turn right around and turn their nose up at it.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

As far as masturbation how many times a day is considered excessive?

If porn is what keeps people from raping and pillaging, that is a problem. Cause eventually that arousal wears off and guess what?

I find the idea of porn keeping people from committing sexual assaults troubling.

Right. I agree with this.

The idea that to stop someone from performing incest in real life you allow him to watch incest porn is indeed troubling.

What i don't get is how this country teeters the line of what's sexuality and morality. A woman can dance on stage butt naked for money, star in a porn film for money but can't outright have sex for money. What sense does that make.
