Police Kill Unarmed Teen In Ferguson, Missouri

i dont think it was the video the set some off i think it was the sentence leading into the video

you've always seemed like a good dude to me

that sentence was ill advised tho
laugh.gif
But do you see this **** though?

I'm not even white, I'm hispanic.  Dad is full Mexican, I grew up in a 99% white town and experienced racism myself... But dudes make assumptions about who's talking and now I'm "extremely selfish and narcissistic".

 Okay.

Tell me again how I don't know about racism growing up as the only brown kid in my entire graduating class in a hick town in upstate NY.

Tell me why I didn't wanna get "too tan" over summer break when I visited AZ and could come back with skin darker than Drake.

Tired of it man. Srs.

He didn't say you were racist, he just said that it is insulting to try to deflect on hundred's of years of mistreatment from authorities with "well it isn't only...

Specially when you don't have the privilege to experience it first hand.... It just doesn't come out right

I only said that because this is a cops vs black people centric thread.  Civil Forfeiture is equally as ****** up if it happens to a black or a white person or anyone else.

You don't hear too much about cops just snatching a wad of bills off someone and keeping it for *insert whatever reason they want* on a big scale.  JO exposing it though.

You don't need to get upset that I said it doesn't only happen to black people.
laugh.gif
That was merely an "oh by the way - cops do this **** all the time and its still absurd" transition into the video I posted.
People of color are tied of having their experiences and the hands of an injustice system marginalized by other groups claiming, "Hey, it happens to us too!"

Arguments of the like are extremely narcissistic and selfish.

As if an issue is only valid when and if it happens to white or white adjacent groups...
yep. "black people aren't the only ones being oppressed" is very similar in nature to "some of my best friends are black" - it comes from the same place. as if this balances it all out. the endgame to invoke that into the dialoggue is the same
lol @ any white person in this thread upset because they feel left out, oppressed or "put under a microscope"

it's not about you

Fact is you posted that video stating that cops aren't just doing shady **** to black people only....

Obviously true, but you had to know that comment would rub people the wrong way at the moment in this thread....

You right, you didn't... You only implied that I'm extremely selfish and narcissistic. Thanks for that.

bro you preaching to the choir I already know what its like being brown in some of these towns in upstate NY

dude what exactly are you upset about? that your grievances aren't getting equal shine or something? make it clear what point you're trying to make here

You don't get it, the fact that you posted something like that in here, makes it seem as if you were deflecting on the real issue, police brutality is a issue, but the targeting of blacks is the bigger more prominent one and the specific moral content of this thread, I'm not gunna be the one to call you out on false pretenses, so tell me exactly why you felt the need to post that in here?

I think he's upset that the policing system is broken.

Seems to be the same thing many here are upset about, but the lack of implication that he's non-white in his initial post caused unnecessary friction between people who want the same thing.

Ladies and gentlemen... Divide and conquer.

Did the officer ever get arrested and charged??

Haven't heard much on this story lately.

You right, you didn't... You only implied that I'm extremely selfish and narcissistic. Thanks for that.
Just reading the exchange and commenting, not judging.

I am sure that you've experienced bigotry, but I am also sure that you've never experienced racism. The issue within the hispanic community in regard to civil rights, is when people become black when it is convenient. You've experienced discrimination, yet you cannot identify, and some refuse to identify, with the people for whom it was legal to discriminate against when you get to the voting booths, and when it comes to your racial identity.

You are not black, you are hispanic.

This is a problem.

You cannot have it both ways.

In cases where the cops abuse those in the hispanic community, you are right to be offended by their actions, and then calling it racism.

What you do not realize, but then perhaps you do, is that law enforcement has just introduced you to your true identity in this country.

You are a ******.

Welcome home, son.

How far upstate you live? I'm in Saratoga now but grew up like 90miles north of Albany.

Yea thats it... That's why I've never brought my ethnicity into any discussion like this until that last post....

Please give my struggles the shine they deserve. /sarcasm

Civil forfeiture itself (which is the 1 focus in the video I posted) isn't something that targets black people in such a way as "stop and frisk" does.  Who knows, it might happen to more white people than blacks, I'm not sure there are demographic's documented on who cops have taken money/possessions from.

THAT is why I said it doesn't happen only in NY or to black people.  It is ONE little ****** up thing that cops do, a loophole in their abilities as an officer that some of them take advantage of and essentially steal from citizens.

But yea, I'm just a racist, narcissistic, selfish dude trying to deflect the struggles of black people.

Yes because he had it in his hand in the store :rollin :rollin

So you would rather believe that he was shooting at him with a sandwich in his hand?

I mean, not much evidence to attest what actually happened but are you that inclined to protect the intentions of this officer

We should stop quoting the trolls. They're blocked for a reason lol

This is just sad. Drop a bomb on all pd's in Missouri. Cops need to be trained better.

▲ How the hell has he been living there for a whole year and his neighbors don't recognize him? After that wal-mart incident, my belief is that they tried to have him killed. Smh!
