Press Citizen – The Iowa City bar that has drawn national attention for allegedly discriminate against a patron based on her weight has been ordered to tear down the platform on which the bar told her she couldn’t dance. The Iowa City Housing and Inspection Services department sent a formal violation order to The Union Bar at 131 E. College St. to remove a roughly four foot square and four foot tall platform that did not meet building code requirements, said Code Enforcement Assistant Jann Ream. The bar has until Friday to dismantle the platform. The platform caught the public’s attention last week when University of Iowa student Jordan Ramos said she was prohibited from dancing on the small stage by a bar employee due to her size.
Ok and what is that going to accomplish? Its like the city just told the bar to do something to shut this chick up.
