eagles tried to resign mac, offered him just below 10 mill.. which is fair for a guy with only 1 season over 1000 yards in his career
the flaw in SAS point, is if it came down to chip choosing between the 3 WRs (desean, maclin or coop).. he obviously would want maclin.. but he doesn't have that choice (because of cooper's contract and KC simply offering more money)
chiefs went to 11 mill per, which makes mac the 7th highest paid WR in the league.. as much as we may like mac, I think even his biggest fan doesn't think he should be the 7th highest paid guy
we went hard after mccourty, probably offered him more money than he got from the pats.. but he, like cobb, they took less to remain with their teams.. cant knock maclin or anyone else, for taking the money
I mean we did just take WRs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds in the last draft
and we cut overpaid older guys.. we tried to get trent to restructure, he felt disrespected.. herremans, the injuries were piling up and his play fell off the last couple years (plus we had a cheaper replacement on the roster.. remember his salary was based on when he had to move out to right tackle for us)
lesean was about money and getting a player who could be a stud.. and then you factor in how friendly our system is for RB and chip's ability to get production from the position (saw some stat about shady's rushing yards total last year were the least by the head RB since chip took over as head coach.. going back to college)
