Overrated vacation destinations

From California..

NY was garbage IMO. Smelled horrible, everyones in a rush to get somewhere and don't give a crap about other people, most food places in town are dirty / old, driving a car is hopeless although we did take the train instead.

Idk maybe chalk it up to me being a country boy, but I just didn't get the hype in it. The huge department stores maybe?

When I go to LA I can feel the inspiration and success seeping from its pores, but NY just felt overrated to me.

I know people that are more of the countryside type probably wouldn't prefer to live in NYC.

I NEVER drive in NYC because the transit system there is perfect for getting around, but when I do drive there, it's not THAT bad. You just have to know alternative routes if there's traffic forming (there's more than one way to get to a destination).

I can't agree with you in terms of not feeling inspiration, let alone "success" in NYC as opposed to LA. New Yorkers are generally known to be about their grind.

I don't know how some of y'all can live without passports

Had one since like 8 years old.
no shortage of domestic destinations is how.....

I'm from Dc. I have evert reason tk hate ny

When you set foot in nyc, it is like a spiritual high. Like damn I am in the Apple. The Mecca. Some placed just have a feel. Whenever I am in NYC, I felt like I was walking on clouds man.

I feel like this for the first couple days then i'm ready to leave.

I hate Vegas..

has anyone in here called Miami overrated?

Why the Vegas hate?

I wouldn't say it was so much the lack of grind people were putting in around me while i was there.. I think it's just the city itself and the vibe it was giving off. I go to LA and I look around and I understand how people get inspired there. The views, beaches, weather, etc.

I didn't get that from NY.

Tis just my opinion.

our first interaction with the casino was a dude buffing the floor and all the shops/food places closed....

then..... tried to go to some bar and it was closed too.... dont even think it was 2am yet.

that don't happen where I live... even on a weekday

Miami/South Beach: spent $100 in 2 hours, all i had to show for it was sunburn and a pizza.

Va Beach: I live here. It succs here. Dont come here. Beach "sand" is filtered dirt. Equivalent to a ash tray. Locals (police included) dont take kindly to out of towners. You will most likely go to jail here for bs if youre not smart.

Orlando: idk. I go 5x a year. Stay off the tourist trail youll be aight.

This is a GROSSLY exaggerated critique, sir.

Dc isn't that bad.

Va beach sucks though. I don't know why anyone would live in that area who isn't in the military.

You just went to the wrong spots.

There are countless 24 hr restaurants from cheap to more expensive

Clubs and bars close at various times but most good ones stay open until at least 3 or 4 and there are after hours spots.

Sounds like you were off strip and/or in some whack hotel

Now there are plenty of reasons to hate Vegas if you ain't about the gambling/raging life

Miami clubs seemed more VIP centric than any other city I've partied in so it wasn't great being broke there

I see what you mean as well. Inspiration comes from many.

We stayed in one of the hotels connected to a casino by a corridor. It was across the street from the hotel with the roller coaster on it I think. Went during trade show cz my homegirls owned an online boutique.

We expected EVERYTHING on the strip to be open at all times. I'm also not a gambler, so there's that too.

Miami seems VIP for tourists because all they know is what they see on TV or hear about in rap song lol.. We have some of the most chill, laid back bars/lounges in the country IMO.

I have a roster of Miami spots that visitors would love. If ever in need, holler.

I'm in love with Los Angeles tho. Has that made the overrated list?

If you were by Stratosphere that's definitely a dead part of the Strip so that makes sense

Yeah we had no local connections where we went so we just went to the famous South Beach spots. I just remember being frustrated bc every bad one was in VIP
