"OTHER BRAND" - RUNNING shoe thread - asics, saucony, new balance, hoka one one, adidas, reebok, brooks, altra, skechers, etc...

Did my second HM wearing Adios Pro 4s this weekend.

Great shoe at pace. Felt great when I was fresh in the first half of the race. Really didn’t get on with it when fatigue set in (not blaming the shoe - I need to get fitter!!) but definitely taught me that I prefer that firmer ride for the latter miles to keep my form and stability.

Will save it for 5 and 10km races now and will start having a look at race shoe options for HM that are more to my needs. Maybe an Adios Pro 3 kinda ride but with better uppers!!

My experience with that offers a few super shoe options with firmer rides:

Hyperwarp Elite
Endorphin Pro 4/5
Alphafly 3(Still a good one years later)
Brooks Hyperion Elite 5, the 6 is getting really good reviews so maybe wait for that.

Also hearing the upcoming Adios Pro 5 has a firmer formulation of Lightstrike Pro, not as squishy as the 4.

If I can get a decent discount on Hyperwarp Elite I might take a chance- been many years since wearing a Mizuno trainer but they look great and reviews seem to suggest it might be the type of shoe am looking for.

Interesting that the Adios Pro 5 may be firmer- I did hope that would be the case given the energy rods are replaced with the energy rim, so I figured the foam may need to be a bit firmer? Intrigued to see what comes out.

Hoping to grab a discounted Alphafly 3 next time I’m back in the States 👍🏻 Not an easy shoe to get great deals on in the UK.

There are a bunch of them at Clearance Stores for $100.

Another Chinese performance trainer on the docket to test real soon!

Most likely my last EVO SLs

I have yet to run in the Woven iteration... so testing them soon as well LOL

I also saw that Volt Li-Ning Feidian 6 Elite cw in the wild after my run yesterday. They looked really good, but I have too many trainers/racers in Volt. However, Silver is their secondary color, so I just might..... LOL

Be good to hear your feedback on the woven. Just the regular and the ATR for me so far.

Saucony progrid, Drew did a good job on these.

I love your collection just curious how you store all your shoes.

Wanted to try another shoe, but I ended up grabbing these and went on my second run in them. It was just EUPHORIC. I had ZERO expectations on how I'd perform on this run. But YO! I'm honestly not sure if these shoes are THAT GOOD, or if I'm in better shape?! I was anxious at the start of the run and just let go and detached myself from hitting certain paces/times. After the first mile, it felt almost effortless. You can tell from my HR.

I remember a few years... when I got into the sub7 paces, my HR would be >170 all the time LOL

IMG_5611.jpg

When I glanced at my Garmin towards the latter miles, I was skeptical at my pace with my HR LOL

YMMV, but, for me, the Li-Ning Red Hare 9 Ultras are CERTIFIED BANGERS, ESP since they can be acquired for <$120 (depending on size) shipped.

reviews been out for a while

im more interested in the hyperboost euphoria, its a $130 casual version of the edge

I wasn’t talking about the model. I have a pair of them. I was talking about the collab colorway.

I have now jumped on the non nike wearing footwear with copping Asics Cumulus 16s white/forest and loving them. So ended up copping these but too much silver. Can the silver in these areas be painted black?

If it helps anyone on here who wants to make a decision whether or not the plunge is worth it trying the Red Hare 9 Ultra, I have a pair and his review is spot on. There's nothing I really dislike about other than it's a smidge unstable. (There are also some leaks of the Red Hare 10 Ultra and they're working on stabilizing it btw.) I have nearly 200 miles on my pair and the outsole is like perfect. I probably have a terrible gait and I really destroy every shoe I run in. I pretty much can't even get to 100 miles without the outsole looking like some people took it to 800miles. For example, my Vomero Plus's outsole had patches on both pairs where it exposed the ZoomX by the time I hit 100 miles. So when I say that at nearly 200 miles I have literally no visible wear, it's a huge plus. They took their super durable CPU outsole rubber commpound they use in their ball shoes and it's amazing on these.

💯

I’ve logged just over 15mi total in mine so far (~10mi running with performance / ~5mi of warming up and cooling down jogs). I know it’s not much now, but I’m finding it difficult to identify ANY wear on the outsoles. If anything, the most wear that I can see is on the perimeter of the Super Boom Capsule seen from the outsole cut.

As a comparison, I recall running in my Vomero Premiums for the first time with a 10mi run, and I already could see the wearing down of the outsoles. I supinate, so my most abrasive area are the lateral forefoot sections.

Opted for my Vomero Premiums today. Although my overall average pace was faster than in the RH9Us yesterday, it felt forced. I found that both had a similar sensation. The VPs are just HEAVY AF. When I got home, I got curious to see the difference in weight between the two. It was a ~70G difference!

Outsole wear: Vomero Premiums (~28mi) / RH9Us (~15mi)
