What's in that Forgotten Gems folder?
I can't get with Grid view. It's not clean easy enough to browse songs.

Yea for the general Music library I don't use the grid. Just for some playlist do I use that view.Originally Posted by Crazy EBW

How do you get where you have the genres, artists and albums above where your music is?Originally Posted by Crazy EBW

Aight buddy, I'm looking for some good artists. Put me on to some good music. Something you like that you may not think the avg. 21 yr. old black male has heard.
It don't have to be rap either. Just give me something good. Whatever you like.

Man,
my Itunes > Everyone else's.
Because I feel like my iTunes is STACKED.
I generally use treble booster to enhance the artist's voice (not voice booster or whatever).Originally Posted by Crazy EBW
God. Damn.
Anyways, anybody use EQ for songs/albums? I never have messed with it too much but I feel like i'm missing out on better sound without EQ settings for my stuff.

I sort by Artist and have all feat. artists in the comment box so it doesn't mess up my iTunes/iPhone... looks ugly after the artist name and can get really long after a song name so found the best compromise is to place it in the comment box.
I am very picky about my iTunes and look up all the back covers for the albums I have and input the song names and feat. artists exactly how they appear on the back of the cover or in the booklet (booklet preferred if I have access to it) with the exception of the word feat. which is the same on all songs that require it... not Feat. or Featuring etc.
I manually google all covers on google for high quality scans of 700x700 or higher and resize all to 712x708, if not I don't even bother with the album cover with low quality picture and leave it blank.
No multiple/sub genres... for example: only Hip Hop/Rap not Hip Hop, Hip-Hop, Rap, Gangsta Rap, etc.
Only Metal not Heavy Metal, Metal, etc.
Only Rock not Rock, Classic Rock, New Rock, etc.
Soundtracks/Compilations have Part of a compilation option checked
Singles: album name is Song Name - Single
All my ripped CD's are AAC 256 kbps (VBR) and all my downloaded albums I try to find LAME/MP3 v2 vbr (I'm pretty sure this is the standard right now for most rips, if not someone correct me) or 320 cbr if vbr can't be found... a few songs are 192 cbr or 128 cbr that I just can't find with higher quality.
I have over 16 GB of music and as soon as I add new music I start the renaming process...

Yeah, I just did the same thing. I was worried about it too but it works FLAWLESSLY. iTunes pretty much does all the work for you. I googled tonsof sites, info, and videos but this one right here was the BEST BY FAR. Easiest, best way for sure.Originally Posted by MikeScarn
Sorry if this has been answered....Can I move my library to an external HD and still keep my iTunes intact? Can only listen when the external is plugged in? What happens when I unplug the external? (does it just say "song file not found" or do they dissapear from itunes until I re-connect the external?)
Removing 60gb of music from my internal HD would be
Thanks
