I tried once and I felt too, behind.
Too much to catch up on.

Did I just miss something with Beetlejuice? I watched it in college (about 15 years after it came out). It's one of those movies where I feel you have to see it at a certain age. Like, age 13. I have friends who love it, but it's just kinda whatever to me.

dmbrhs dmbrhs I watched it yesterday for the first time as an adult, it was just okay, some charming parts, I thought Ryder, Geena, Baldwin, and Keaton were good. I already had tickets to the sequel before I saw the OG, think just cause of my detachment to the OG seeing as an adult, the sequel should be on par or better.

The special effects/presentation will be a million times better :lol

It's not really a "catch up" kind of show if you understand the basic lore. It's not something I can recommend to someone who isn't heavy into sci-fi and the weirder, goofier parts of it though.

If someone does feel like getting to it, you would start with the Chris Eccleston season 1 and go from there.

Funny ya'll were talking about Dad shows recently and my pops would be pure action and westerns but recently saw me watching an episode of this and we ended up talking about how he would watch the old series.

I think your feelings about it are in line with the majority of people. That’s about where I am with it. It’s cool, but not something that has re-watch value for me.

But like a lot of Tim Burton’s work, Beetlejuice seems to have a strong cult following of people who absolutely love it. Like Nightmare Before Christmas.

That cult following, Hollywood’s current state of relying heavily on new movies based on existing IP, both Keaton and Ryder in the middle of career resurgences and the power of nostalgia, and you get a Beetlejuice sequel.

I'm not a fan of Burton (did love the Keaton Batman movies though), so that certainly plays a role.

Glad I'm not the only one confused by the love for Beetlejuice, but that said, I'll be seeing the sequel this weekend.

Granted I haven't seen the OG Beetlejuice in over 20 years but I think you had to be a kid to teen in the late 80's-early 90s when it became part of the lexicon. It probably looks dated and is cheesy now for those watching for the first time.

Very well said in regard to Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas. The level of staying power that film has endured is absolutely incredible.

Jack Skellington is still going strong after 30 years.

I remember Anonymous and 4chan and then the Q Anon folks.
Buddy, lol😂
This joint speaks to the creators of 4chan Anon and the QAnon originators.
Does a good job of setting up the story to how they created the atmosphere that welcomed the storming of the Capital by those goofies.

I’d watch it again.
I enjoyed Ashley Madison doc as well.
Stuck in the hacker hole at the moment I guess.
Started the day with that Prince William film and followed it with the Shawn Ryan /Trump interview then pushed to current content.
Yesterday I watched a bunch of Murder Docs on Explore With Us.
It’s been so fun watching all of this garbage this week in between real life.

Vanilla Sky was one of the most confusing experiences I've ever had watching a movie. Enjoyed the hell out of it though once I figured out what was going on.
