Local arts theater has a bunch of Oscar nominated movies showing currently and saw this last night. One of the most interesting takes on a WWII movie I've ever seen. Almost no action or discussion of what's going on in the war. Just more of a commentary about people going on with their lives while a genocide is going on literally next door. Just Rudolf Hess's family's day to day literally living on the other side of the wall at Auschwitz and living their lives while the father figure is engineering the extermination of hundreds of thousands of people next door during the day. Not something I'd run back to watch again, but a very interesting way to go about the WWII film.
