Given the sheer amount of movies I've watched in the past few months both old and recently new (and pretty much the whole past year) it's become far easier to see through movies, trailers, and even a damn synopsis to get the gist of it. More so for the movies that aren't going to be that good or are pretty straightforward in genre.

, and other vets of this thread I don't know how yall do it for certain movies especially when they're promoted as something "new"
Anyway, I saw As Cool As I Am some time last week on demand and Claire Danes definitely makes the same crying face when her character needs to cry on camera
:x Movie was a bit more sexual than I thought. The mom's a **** and lost in life, had a child to young (Claire Danes). Dad is super absent and when he's around tries too hard to be a father and strict (Marsden). The daughter (something Bolger) really has her head on her shoulders, is almost too responsible for a 16 yr old and as she goes through her sexual awakening a lot of stuff seems rushed. The montages got corny after a while. The ending was weird. She gets left I guess to cook at some diner working for some old dude, living on her own basically, as her mom leaves to Mexico or some place with like the 3rd random guy she meets up with, and the dad seemingly dips for good.
Movies like this do make me wonder do white ppl really have that easy growing up as teenagers. This was along the lines of The Art of Getting By, Tanner Hall, The Perks of Being A Wallflower, etc. just not as depressing or dour.
