Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Caught this on cable just before I went to bed. I remember watching this as a kid on cable for the first time. My TV had a UHF & VHF dials. My cable box had a remote connected by wire & changed channels with a dial... :lol

:lol I remember having one of those dial TVs. Channels only went up to 13, there was no remote at all and we had to adjust the antennae to get reception on certain channels. The dark ages.

Enough Said was great. So sad to see him go. The movie had me hooked right from the start. Definitely worth seeing.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones was a hell of a lot of fun. It's not really a good horror film, but it changed the stale formula of the last four films. Similar things happen, but they literally carbon copied the first film three times with the sequels, just at different times and using different technology.

They didn't expand the mythology a whole lot but they did make it interesting and fun.

I mean, you got a scene where a few cholos run into a coven stronghold with some heavy artillery. :lol

It was the most fun I had in a Paranormal film yet.

It wasn't as good as the third or first, but better than the second and fourth, IMO.

Seeing a witch getting blasted with a shotgun was enough to win me over. :lol

There's already 5 Paranormal Activity movies???!!! 8o I had no idea. I feel like the 1st one just came out like 2 years ago.

Yep, there's already five. :lol

I wonder if they make more sequels than Saw did. Saw ended up having eight films.

It's crazy because the most prestigious horror franchises have just as many sequels as these Saw and PA movies have. :lol

The thing that keeps people coming back is building on the mythology of the previous films. That, and teenagers eat it up.

Samsung was supposed to have Michael Bay appear during the CES to help introduce it's new UHD curved displays but the teleprompter stopped working & he couldn't wing it so he just walked off. What a dud... Starts at the 57 min, 20 sec mark.

How could Bay not wing it, on his own/involvement on the product? :{

Absolutely. I love Spike Jonze, it's an intriguing premise, and Phoenix is always worth a watch.

Big, I woulda expected you to have seen Her way back in Oct during the NYFF. I would kill for something like that out here in SF. All our movie fests suck :lol :{

I've agree with everything this guy says in the vids. It's why I love artists like Mondo re-interrupting movie posters. It's definitely a lost art form. I guess it was to be expected when suits are running the show more than ever.

Crazy EBW, you gonna go crazy if you think a lot of info is going to be out now. We're 2 years away from the release date (12/18/15). As of December 13th, the official script hasn't even been turned in.

Slashfilm is a good resource for any Star Wars news/updates as well as being a good resource for movie/TV news overall. Star Wars also has an official website (both links below).

Also one of the guys on Latino Review seems to be getting a lot of Star Wars news first hand before everyone else. This site is a good overall resource too.

& like Marsalis Wallace said, you need to chill out... :lol

1. There should be more stuff out at this point. Period. Casting. Script. Whatever.

2. Like I've said. I've avoided ANYTHING and tried not to think about it at all because it is such an important part of my life and I get anxiety attacks because I drive myself crazy with Star Wars stuff. It's really a problem. :{

I watched Jeff, Who Lives At Home last night. What a great script and piece of filmmaking. Jason Siegel did his thing playing a lovable philosopher if you will that's searching for his purpose. Ed Helms played his toolbag character well. The ending was awesome would have never guessed the film would go in that direction. Just one of those movies that puts into perspective how interwoven everything and everyone is.

If only I lived in New York :lol Forget film festivals, I can barely see these movies in theaters down in Central Florida :{ I think 12 Years a Slave played for like 2 weeks in a theater like 30 minutes away from me. Her is currently playing 40 miles away :lol So I usually have to wait a little bit longer for them to get closer to me.

I find myself watching Life of Pi over & over whenever it's on cable. I love the character of the older Pi waxing poetic about his youth like a philosopher. I also like the younger Pi. That scene when his father says they will sail like Columbus & he replies, "But Columbus was looking for India"... I chuckle at that everytime... Such a beautiful story.

My bad, I always assumed you were located in NY :lol

Looks like you have it worse than me :{

i've had life of pi sitting in my movie queue for a long while now. think i'll actually take the time to watch it this weekend.

Not feeling how Miles freaking Teller has a bigger role than MBJ in that new movie with Efron.

I know MBJ took that role to get into that romantic comedy type steeze but he should have been a major character imo

Btw, that lone ranger movie with walhberg is doing horrible at the box office
