Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson's daughter Dakota Johnson got the female lead in 50 Shades.

She was the girl that Justin nailed in Social Network that tells him about Facebook.

She was also on the short lived sitcom Ben and Kate and had a role in 21 Jump Street. I'm a fan.

This will be her Sharon Stone Basic Instinct introduction to the world. :evil

Stone also had smaller roles pre BI. Like Above the Law and Total Recall.

Total Recall is the best Stone has ever looked. Smoking hot.

Derailed is an amazing movie that is not very known or talked about. I can almost guarantee that you will like it, I have no clue how more people don't know about it.

Got thru a lot this weekend.

We're the Millers, decent, better than I expected (didn't expect much at all) I liked the characters more than I thought I would, loved Emma Roberts (again) and even tho the stripper angle made me sad for Jen, she did her usual. Nothing special, but decent late night watch when you're busy with other stuff.

Oblivion, again, not bad. I liked Jack Reacher better, but this is a decent Cruise film. Liked the story, the twist, etc. Visually really cool.

Sinister. Wow. WAAAAAAAAY better than I expected. I expect zero from horror films, this one was fun. It's basically two hours of Ethan Hawke by himself, but the mini films work out great and are interesting as hell. All the lame scare tactics were tired, I wish they would have thrown those out and made this more of an 8MM type film. I remember Nic Cage bein all scared in the previews of 8MM and that movie sucked. This should have been that, without the creepy horror things. Still not the Conjuring, but a solid enough attempt. Just really wish they went a slightly different route is all. Even a Sevenish type angle would have worked, imo.

Place Beyond the Pines. Yeesh. Talk about damn depressing. :lol Very good, interesting, was not ready for what happened midway. Damn it. But enjoyed the story and the full circle. Life can be brutal, they made that clear. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be, Gosling v Cooper or something to the effect, but it still kept me involved in the film the whole time. Liked it, but I don't think I'll watch it very many times down the road, have to be in a depressed mood for something like that. :lol

The Heat. Eh. Was alright. Little too much effort, but I did laugh a couple times. Nothing brilliant, but worth the look at least. Not a must by any means however.

above the law and under seige were my two favorite steven segal movies

:lol @ steven segal playing a mexican in machete

I was actually a huge Segal fan growing up.

But I just watched an hour long interview with him. And that guy seem like a straight up *** Hole. Like he just thinks he's better than everyone. :lol

I love Segal's fighting sequences, but his movies are garbage to me.

In other news, Tom Hardy's Mad Max also starring Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Zoe Kravitz, Nathan Jones, & Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is still shooting... Damn, that's been in production for a long time.

This is the film I'm most excited about seeing this fall..

James Cameron's praise for Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity -

I was stunned, absolutely floored. I think it’s the best space photography ever done, I think it’s the best space film ever done, and it’s the movie I’ve been hungry to see for an awful long time. What is interesting is the human dimension. Alfonso and Sandra working together to create an absolutely seamless portrayal of a woman fighting for her life in zero gravity.

My favorite movie opening scenes at the moment.... My favorite is the Empire Strikes Back but I can't find a vid that has the Fox - Lucas Film opening, the scroll, & the tracking shot to from the Destroyer to Hoth...

The Dark Knight - This vid doesn't have the whole opening specifically the part where the bus drives away...

Reservoir Dogs

Watching From Russia With Love on Showtime. IDC, Connery is still the best Bond ever. Craig is 2nd, IMO, but still behind Connery.
