Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The Butler was damn good. Will hopefully have some time tomorrow to talk about it a little bit. It's an easy recommendation.

Just got back from seeing The World's End and I loved it, was completely entertained through out the whole film. If you like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, you'll like this too. Might even say its better then those 2 but I'll wait till I see this movie a couple more times and see if its replay value holds up like the other two.

Chester, do you concur? You must have seen this by now.

How come yall wasn't in here talking about the Dallas Buyer's Club? 8o

I thought Matthew lost all that weight for Mud and some other movie. I just saw some scenes of DBC on tv and it looks good, plot was explained to the point I have to check it. The movie is apparently already getting Oscar buzz.

I mentioned the film many moons ago. It was on my most anticipated films of 2013 list

I can't stress how much I dislike the shaky cam pov type of movies.

Cloverfield is damn near unwatchable at this point.

That Stranger preview what the ****!

Adam Scott's new film looks awesome... he's one of my favorite actors, glad he's turning the page and getting his shots as lead nowadays.

The JFK/Hanks one was a ton of shouting. I don't know yet.

I posted this in the Batman/Superman thread but this deserves to be in here too for other movie fans to see...

i made a thread about this movie a while ago, but i thought i'd post it here.  i thought it was pretty good, a bit too short though

Kevin Spacey urging the industry to not make the mistake the music industry made years ago & give viewers more control.

This might be the best season of Mad Men IMO. Normally they'll have some boring spots but every episode so far is entertaining from beginning to end.

Don will always be a dawg on these females :lol :hat, treating his mistress like a prostitute.

Pete is becoming more a ***hole every season.

I haven't seen enough Roger though.

Anyone else notice that there seems to be a lot of people who are generally regarded as movie actors coming out with new, network TV shows this fall? I've seen ads for TV shows with Malin Ackerman, Anna Farris and Robin Williams. There's some others that I can't think of right now too. Unfortunately, from what I can tell, the shows don't look all that great, but its still interesting. I don't think its something we would have seen maybe 10 years, but now that the quality of TV has gotten better (and movies arguably have gotten worse), actors don't seem to have issues with jumping back and forth between different media.

I think that's been happening for a while really. To me, Keifer was the first "movie" actor that went to tv and made me think for a moment about it.

That could just be my interpretation of it, I could be wrong, but I definitely see TV getting more and more movie actors lately. I believe the money is really good, and the time is less stressful, if I've heard correctly. Could be wrong on that too tho.

^^^ Nah, you're right. It has been happening for while. In addition to Keifer, you had William Petersen, then Fishburne in CSI. Same thing with Gary Sinise. Just seems like its happening more and more now.
