Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I have seen Running Scared. 3 times. Awsome flick.
It's low key very over-looked, nice to see some recognition :hat

Thanks CP.
I actually just watched Paid in Full for the first time. (10 years too late :lol).
But definitely a great first movie on netflix. :hat

Im thinking about watching this documentary series a buddy told me about... "How Stuff Works"... Pretty intriguing.
Basically goes into detail about a resource we use a lot but overlook as far as where and how it came about. (Rubbert, lead, whiskey, etc.)

Im pretty close to pressing play on the first episode (Corn). Ill let you guys know if its worth a watch.

Running Scared is really good, not every movie with that format pulls it off to the point you'd watch again.

I just saw "A Good Ole Fashioned Orgy" and thought it was pretty funny, in a "Jason Sudekis movie" kind of way

Does anyone else think Jennifer's Body and the House of Wax remake are underrated?

I really like those movies, I feel like they don't really get any love

Breakfast Club

Watched Bernie (2011 or 2012 cant remember)

Really good, i liked the way it was shot like part interviews part regular movie scenes. Jack Black is amazing in it too. I dont think it came out in the cinemas here, which sucks but it was good. Defo recommend it.

Watched The Paperboy (2012), night before last.

Good, interesting, kinda think they should have thought through the sub themes and side story lines a bit as they kind of pop out of nowhere at the end. But watchable. Matthew McConaway (dont know how to spell it lol) is a sick actor tho, always forget how plays southern characters so well.

saw True Romance (1993, tarentino) a couple nights ago. very good movie

Iceberg Slim:Portrait of a Pimp pretty good documentary, have to check out the books by him now

i am interested on thoughts on i am legend. to me, its one of the greatest movies of all-time. when discussing movies though i always get the opinion that it was alright. i am overrating it?

I'd say you are.

One of your favorites? Hard to argue against personal preference. Greatest of all-time? Not even close for me.

I wrote out like 4 differant responses but they unintentionally ended up sounding mean, so I'm just gonna say I don't think it's anywhere near the greatest of all time but it's not a terrible movie either.

not the greatest off all-time but one of the greatest in my opinion. that movie had everything in my opinion. personal preferences everyone has. the thing is that most people i know hated it. just don't get it.

Co-sign. It's a good, entertaining movie, but nothing that special, IMO.

The movie is just okay. Not terrible but nowhere near one of the greatest.

It really doesn't lean on replay value either. I saw it was on earlier today, I think I opted to watch reruns of SVU and criminal intent and Independence Day.

Has anyone else had a chance to check out "The Act of Killing" yet? I saw it yesterday and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Probably my new favorite documentary, highly recommend it.

Edit: just saw someone else's post about it, and I would agree that its extremely disturbing, but in a different way from almost any movie I've seen before.

It's about a few Indonesian men who committed mass murders of suspected Communists in the 1960s, the documentary follows their attempts to film re-enactments of their killings. Not a disturbing movie in the traditional sense, but the callousness of Indonesian society and these men in particular is shocking.

Don't read any more about it than that, except maybe to check its 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. You'll want to go in fresh.
