I agree. I don't have a big head so fitting one isn't a problem. Plus they usually cost less.
Nothing wrong with fitteds though. I like both.

Fitted. I went through my snap back phase, but stopped wearing them after a while.
I'm in the process of getting rid of them. Every time I see a ridiculous person wearing one, makes me want to get rid of mine more lol

Personally, I haven't worn a fitted hat for about 6 years now. I tried one on the other day and the new fit on all of them is HORRENDOUS. The tops of all the fitted's I tried on were super high. When I've seen people wearing fitteds lately I've noticed how high the top of the hat was and thought they were wearing them to large, but like many things today these hats aren't what they used to be.
This is how they should look if they fit properly
And this is how they look NOW.
Snap back's aren't immune from these large tops either but in most cases they do form better to the head. At the end of the day its personal preference but at my age I would not be caught wearing a "fitted top hat".
