Officially Retired from sneakers

Is there an age when you feel like it’s no longer a good look to be wearing Jordans?

…yourself or other people?

50s?

60s?

70s?

…nursing home?
Hokas, OnClouds, Skechers slip ons, etc..are typically what I see guys my age wear. Late 40s so I grew up with this. Most guys my age who are into sneakers, already have a decent balance of when and where they’re appropriate to wear. Too old to worry about what someone thinks I should be wearing. And vice versa.

your post didn’t say anything about judging people’s fashion choices ‘once in your life’ I just said that’s not something I do. Reading comprehension is key famb
It’s not something I do, but I’ve done it.”

Is that your logic?

You said you don’t care what people wear as long as they’re happy.

Pretty clear.

You’re not someone who ever cares what kind of shoes other people where.

It’s the subtext of what you said.

…and I called BS.

Your trying too hard to start an arguement. Grown people gives 2 effs what others do and wear. At all.

The virtue signaling is actually insane around here lmao. I also call BS on anyone who claims they don’t judge fashion choices. Especially here in a forum dedicated to a specific choice of fashion

Honestly I don’t really care what other people think, especially about me.

But you like me, right?

Of course everyone sees people wearing things and thinks mean or insulting things to themselves about it, me included. But probably a good chunk of thoughts I have like that are as much about younger people wearing what is probably considered super cool by other people the same age as they are about older people wearing things I think are lame or whatever.
Some people probably see me in my late 40s rocking Jordans or whatever else and think, that dude is a little old to be wearing that. Or even, look at this tool. That's fine. I don't give a ****. Just because I do it, too, doesn't mean I actually care, and I wouldn't really expect someone else to care if I think they aren't doing it right.
To that end, I will generally wear whatever I want forever, especially on weekends and just hanging out casually. Usually for me these days that just means sweat/warmup pants, (and to a lesser degree shorts in the summer) sneakers, and t shirts. If someone else thinks that all looks terrible or ridiculous, good for them, has zero impact on me

it might not be cool to think of wearing Jordans at an Older age but when it comes to actually seeing a 80-90 year old wearing Jordan’s that is DOPE and it brings inspiration to younger people rocking em

Rocking the Infrared 6s…being rolled around in a wheelchair by an orderly.

Head tilted to the side in a semi-vegetative state.

To the bitter end dammit…LIVE!!

Random bump, but I have 99.9% joined this club. The only sneaker I’m waiting on is the OG 17s colorway run, I’m done otherwise. My last purchase was the recent BC3s, I still keep up with sneakers and releases, still within the community, but glad to say I’m done…for now.

I retired in 2006. Sold off almost everything in 2011. I bought the True Blues in 2013 when they put the Nike Air on the back. Then 2 or 3 years later got the Fire Red Vs with Nike Air on back. I was buying like maybe 1-2 pairs a year. It was a good pace but I wasn't wearing them nearly enough. So now my goal is to wear what I have. Wear them out. Wear them to the ground. These shoes will always be re-released and if you want them bad enough you will get them. They are not basketball cards.

I don't think you can ever be too old to wear jordans or nikes in general.... they are shoes at the end of the day... but at some point the collecting should slow down.... been collecting since 2000 and sold off more than half my collection on here between 2009 and 2012 because my closet kept breaking.... then started again to cop shoes but slowed down a lot and been more selective.... but with all the releases I started to go back to my old ways and cop a lot of shoes... but for me personally how much is enough... if I were to stop buying shoes today I am sure the shoes I have now can last me for a lifetime....

So much this. I have so many pairs getting sole separation before they even get dirty. Gotta find a way to cut back on new purchases so I can wear what I have.

I wear all of my stuff to the gym. They get good wear there. I don't even care about creasing on whatever.

43 years old and I’ve sold pretty much all my dead stock retros. Probably about 50 pairs. Now I’m still Jordan Brand all day but it’s the new models for me. 38’s, 39’s, Lukas, Tatums, Zions. I don’t hoop anymore and these joints are comfortable as hell to wear casually. I know they aren’t popular to wear casually but for me I just wear what I like. Just my thoughts though.

I never touched a sig past 23 and it will probably stay that way forever. If I want comfort I honestly don't even look to my Jordan stuff.

I don't think anyone on NT can hold a retirement press conference until they approach the age of 50.

Once you start having foot problems and notice people snickering behind your back for being a white-haired senior citizen who still wears Jordan 1s.

...not that I would know anything about that.
