unbelievable marketing, like some ish from that cheesy hacker movie from the 90s I hope the beats are on point. ye got a bunch of the Chicago new heads on pins and needles hoping he chooses there tracks for this album, he got so many ghost writers in this joint its crazy, expect some crazy hooks on this one.

Thanks to heads up via email I got yesterday afternoon, I figured why not and headed to the first location here. Toronto had a total of 4 spots, I went to the first one and it was pretty much another guy and I there. The crew played it once and waited to hear word from Kanye's camp in NY to change locations. About 40 mins later they played it a second time, once the third time came around security from the Royal Ontario Museum told the crew to stop.

my take on some of it is that Ye is tired of the industry jocking his style (givenchy, pyrex, leather, gold chains and so on)

hence the line "you see it leaders and its followers and id rather be a **** then a swallower"

all these clones and hypebeast spend they last dime on all this Kanye high fashion stuff when in reality he gets it for free and has the money to buy this stuff when these hypebeast dudes dont.......they the "New Slaves"

I think he listened to Curtis Mayfield's "Dont Worry" and had a concept for a shockingly conscious record but like I said its all over the place .... I know he has to worry about his own career and not worry about "Cole" or "Wale" or whatever. But it seems a little inconsiderate to Jay considering Cole is Jay's best rap artist and is still trying to build a successful career for him.

The marketing is genius. The timing just seems a little selfish if you ask me, literally one week before Coles album? but I know all you Yeezy Stan's are going to say "who cares."

Just think about it. Jay is the one man Kanye calls his "Big Brother" publicly. Would you really mess with your big Brothers project like that? Knowing damn well the attention you bring takes the spot light off of everything around you for the couple of weeks your album drops? Just think about it.

I really gotta go back to the beat. The beat is horrible. Sounds like something Hit Boy made. I think he wanted a simplistic beat that wouldn't drown the lyrics out, and really make people listen to the lyrics. This is not radio friendly.

This. Sorta the same angle he had with "Runaway." Acknowledging that he is guilty of the problem too. That humility is what made people open up to Kanye again.
