^ reading is fundamental. Son clearly said "production wise". Even though he is wrong, "Yeezus" whole aim was to be a album we as consumers weren't suppose to undersand at first but then somewhat understand months/years later.

You're going to talk to me about reading? :lol

Re-read what he wrote. Re-read what I wrote.

Then think please. And see if you can put it together.

If not, come back and I'll break it down for you.

I said IMO. Sonically the production was the best I've ever heard. Flow from track to track, transitions within the songs, everything was executed flawlessly.  The way the whole tone and theme of the album turns on a dime from Send it Up to Bound highlights that perfectly for me.

But yeah, I did say production wise, and in my opinion. I never said it was the greatest hip hop album ever. I'm not sure but I think it's definitely up there with hip hop albums I enjoyed the most. But i recognize its flaws. I just think it's production strengths are unmatched.

^ And is still the only album from 2013 I can listen to from start to finish any time I get into my car :lol

Yikes :lol

I still got mnimn as the best 2013 album but I rock wit yeezus. It aged wayyyyy better than mchg

I was gonna let ol' boi try to figure it out for himself. But let me just clarify.

I don't think you can say "production wise" it may be the best "hip hop" album ever. The same way you can't say a song is the best song ever just because of the beat.

In hip hop. to me at least (I get the whole IMO, it's all opinions man, ain't no right and wrong here), the lyrics and delivery have to play a part.

I also put "hip hop" in quotes because....is this really a "hip hop" album if you're just stripping it down to the production?

I'm not sure it is and I'm not sure that's what he even wanted it to be.

I'm not one for hyperbole and "best evars" either.

Peep, my boy, you've posted in this thread 105 times and it's always just gifs or rolling emoticons.

You don't like Yeezus but you loved Magna Carta. It's cool, we get it. Take it easy.

When I say I think Yeezus is the best produced hip hop album ever, I'm not making excuses for anything. Make excuses why? Because I like the album? Nah.

I'm saying that in my opinion it's the best produced album ever. Nothing more nothing less.

This is the only thread in music where we can't discuss any one small part of an album or song without people running in with witheir torches to yell "YEEZUS SUCKS!!!" or "YOU SUCK! IT'S THE GREATEST!!"

it's kind of annoying...

I want to talk about the beats right now. I don't care what you think bout the verses.

Huh?

You can't say "this is the best produced album" talking about beats and ambiance and transition and samples?

What?

And hip hop used to be DJ's scratching up soul, rock, and disco samples and people dancing to it. Rapping used to be a separate aspect of hip hop, so how is this not hip hop if we're only talking about the production?

Let me reword the statement: "I enjoy the production on this album and the work the producers and engineers did more than I have on any other album." Feel free to disagree. I wasn't stating an absolute truth.

"I gave ya'll prophecy on my last joint, and ya'll all lamed out, didn't really appreciate it til the next one came out"

Switched up the words a bit but ya'll get it...
This will be the case with Yeezus

The problem with yeezus is that everyone had an expectation on what the album would sound like and it didn't match anyone's. I love the album but it's not kanye's best work

It's not that though,

Some of the reactions are unbelievably over the top, The 'Best produced album of all time' remark above is one of them,
We all Kanye fans in this Thread but I swear some people think if they overreact to Yeezus album it makes them a better fan of Ye, Stupid logic

I know all about what "hip hop used to be".

It used to be taking a small portion of soul, rock, disco records and looping them to make a "hip hop" beat.

It wasn't making a disco record and calling it "hip hop".

There's a difference.

Loved Magna Carta? Well that's a fail right out of the box, so the rest of the post doesn't even need to be addressed.

You dudes are annoying as ****

Same dudes to turn around like "Nah, Yeezus ain't the best produced album ever. Kurupt's debut record is!"

***** it's my opinion. I stated very clearly that I enjoyed it's production the most and that it wasn't absolute to everyone.  FOH
laugh.gif

Feel free to enjoy something more or state what you think is better produced. But all this "you like Yeezus?? You lack logic! That's an over the top statement!!" **** is boring to me.

"Stupid logic!!" Why? Do you know what the word logic means?
