Jennifer Lopez Features Lil Wayne On Next Single

'I'm Into You' will be next single off Love? album, which still has no release date.
By Gil Kaufman

Steven Tyler isn't the only "American Idol" judge trying to make the most of a double dose of weekly prime-time exposure on TV's biggest reality show. While Aerosmith's back catalog has gotten a boost thanks to its prominent placement on "Idol," fellow judge Jennifer Lopez has parlayed her spot on the program into the highest-charting single of her career with "On the Floor."

And over the weekend, she revealed that she's got a strong follow-up single ready to go. Speaking with fans during an online chat on Saturday, Lopez revealed that she's finished a song called "I'm Into You" with Lil Wayne that will be the next single from her still unscheduled Love? album.

"My next single I believe will be a song called 'I'm Into You' and it's going to feature Lil Wayne, so look out for that," she said. Asked to name her favorite rapper, Lopez said it used to be Nas, but that these days she's really feeling Weezy, whom she called a "very unique" and "fresh" voice. "Plus he's on my single!"

And though J.Lo did not have a specific release date to announce for the album, she said it would "probably" come out in late May, once two or three singles have hit radio. That would be perfect timing, of course, since "Idol" wraps in mid-May. Lopez, who has toured sporadically during her music career, also said that she planned to launch a world tour in support of Love?. Over the course of the two years she worked on the new album, Lopez said she also recorded Spanish-language versions of some of the songs, and plans to release a full-length Spanish album next.

Asked what the hardest part of being a judge on "Idol" this season has been so far, Lopez said, "I didn't expect that it would be such an emotional roller coaster for me." She also admitted that saying goodbye to the departing contestants has been very difficult for her.
Lil Wayne Sued For $20 Million By 'Lollipop' Producer

Producer Deezle says he hasn't gotten his fair cut of the song's sales.
It's almost a given. An artist scores a major hit that sells millions of records and a short time later is sued by someone either claiming he or she actually wrote the song or worked on it and didn't get a fair slice of the pie.

Cue the lawsuit from the producer Darius Harrison (a.k.a. Deezle), who has filed a court action against Young Money Entertainment and Cash Money Records, claiming that he has not gotten his paper from the sales of Lil Wayne's smash hit "Lollipop" and the album it was featured on, Tha Carter III.

According to TMZ, the $20 million lawsuit claims that Deezle, who says he produced "Whip It," "Prostitute 2," "Action," "Mrs. Officer" and "Let the Beat Build" as well as "Lollipop," is entitled to his cut of royalties on the reported $70 million the album has grossed on sales of 6 million copies.

"Lollipop" hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and won a Grammy for Best Rap Song in 2009. Harrison previously sued Wayne for $2.5 million over what he claimed were unpaid royalties from the sales of "Mrs. Officer."

The liner notes to Carter list Harrison as a co-producer along with Jim Jonsin on "Lollipop" and as the recording engineer on most of the other songs on the disc. A spokesperson for Wayne and Young Money/ Cash Money could not be reached for comment at press time on the lawsuit.

In the meantime, Wayne has been working on putting the latest member of his crew into the spotlight: Lil Twist.

"That's where I get my little oomph from, when I bring my whole clique out there, and I want them to be heard," Wayne told MTV News last week. "I remember when [Bad Boy] had Total, Biggie, Ma$e, Junior Mafia, all of them other people. Then you think of the Roc. We're more so like the Roc. 'Cause Jay always had artists the world didn't know, but he put them on the proper song and everybody knows the song. But this time around, I want you to know the song, I want you to know the person, I want you to know us. And it's no secret about it, I got the toughest team in the game right now and later."
