**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

The boys looked good the other night even after CO went off. Australia is a pretty energetic, we were able to hold our own. Haji and Balogun both offer something different but are best striker options we have and have had in a minute. I think attack wise, it’s more or less solidified. Not sure if Poch is gonna stay with the same formation or switch it up. There’s players that weren’t in this camp that he could bring around next time, like Tyler Adams

This.

THIS is what 8+ years of buildup have brought us.

8+ years of Lalas using extreme diction to say "the 2026 World Cup"

I am underwhelmed.

On paper, we should get out the group in 1st, but you know we'll struggle to lock down the 2nd spot and get grouped.

I don’t understand, was hosting supposed to alter the player pool?

Not directly, no; I understand we can't just "breed" a Messi.

But US Soccer has been painfully aware of the 2026 target for years, even before formally winning the bid. And even since the crashout of 2018 qualification, this squad is, apparently, the best US Soccer's youth development can provide for us. I'm fairly confident I've played pickup ball in the last decade with people seemingly possessed of more natural talent than some of the names on that list. (And I understand the natural talent argument isn't everything, one has to be properly positioned in the culture / youth development / etc to move up the ladder, etc).

Hosting is the boon or motivator for the federation to get its sh*t together, and that appears to not have taken place.

Two nepo kids on the team should tell you all about the federation. It's a joke and they treat it like a country club.

Not beating Paraguay. Not beating Turkey. Might not even beat Australia

Roldan with the good look before skying it with his left. Overall the fellas look solid.
