**Official USMNT Soccer Thread**

I don't keep up with soccer as much as other sports but was Bradley ever good ? Or was it hype :lol ...I know his father was the coach and all that but every time I watch him they talk bout how important he is to the squad but then proceeds to not not play well

Bradley to me is a good player but he is not consistently good. The more i watch him play recently its looks like he's trying to hard on making some runs almost like he's forcing trying to make a play.

Another one of my criticisms of bradley is that he takes to many touches in the box my opinion. I understand trying to make the extra pass and that its a good thing to do but sometimes he would have a good shooting chance and pass on it trying to do to much.

At one point when i was at the game at the Georgia Dome I yelled "JUST SHOOT IT!"

Alotta hot takes in here and a lot of overreacting.

MB90 has been and will continue to be one of our most important players, though he played terribly this tourneyment. I think a major reason for his stinker against Jamaica is JK elected not to rest him even when we made it through. He played every single minute of the tourney. Another reason he didn't play well this tourney is b/c JK continues to play him out of position. Mike is not a 10. I have no idea why JK continues to play him there. To say this man is "TRASH" or shouldn't be called up to another tourney is not being reasonable.

F. Johnson is another player I feel JK is playing out of position. How can you play a guy at the back, when he plays in the midfield for a Champion's League side. :{ I just don't get that. You have wingbacks in Yedlin or even Ream, yet he chooses to move one of our most skilled players to the back.

Tim Chandler is trash. There have GOT to be better options in our pool.

Benny needs to called up for this play-in match. He's the best natural 10 we have in the pool. This would enable MB to move back to his more natural position.

CHICAGO (Aug. 30, 2015) – U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has named the initial 23-player roster that will gather for friendlies against Peru and Brazil in the final preparation games before the decisive Oct. 10 playoff against Mexico at the Rose Bowl for a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

The U.S. faces Peru, which finished third in Copa America this summer, on Sept. 4 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. (7 p.m. ET; FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports Go, UniMas, Univision Deportes Network) and four days later meets five-time World Cup champion Brazil at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts (8 p.m. ET; ESPN Networks, UniMas, Univision Deportes Network).

“The bigger picture is to get some answers for how we put things together for the Mexico game a month from now,” said Klinsmann. “Obviously we want to continue to have a good flow of guys from the Gold Cup, but also to bring back guys who are in position to compete for a spot on the roster for Oct. 10. Our message to these guys is simple: prove a point that you want to be at the Rose Bowl.”

A total of 15 players from the group were a part of the team that represented the United States this summer at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and 12 join from the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. The roster is loaded with experience, boasting an average of nearly 27 caps. Three players have 50 or more appearances, while only five have 10 caps or less.

Matt Besler and Jermaine Jones could see action for the first time since February and fellow 2014 World Cup teammates Geoff Cameron and Tim Howard are back in the mix for the first time in 2015. Meantime, SV Sandhausen forward Andrew Wooten will make his first appearance in an MNT camp, the 25-year-old having scored five goals in the first five games this season.

Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley and Seattle Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey will be added to the U.S. roster for the match against Brazil, and goalkeeper William Yarbrough will return to his club and be replaced by Chicago Fire ‘keeper Sean Johnson. Any additional changes will be determined following the game against Peru.

U.S. Roster by Position:
GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), William Yarbrough (Club Leon)
DEFENDERS (8): Ventura Alvarado (Club America), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Greg Garza (Atlas), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Michael Orozco (Club Tijuana), Tim Ream (Fulham)
MIDFIELDERS (7): Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Joe Corona (Veracruz), Mix Diskerud (New York City FC), Jermaine Jones (New England Revolution), Alfredo Morales (FC Ingolstadt), Danny Williams (Reading), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)
FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Aron Johannsson (Werder Bremen), Bobby Wood (Union Berlin), Andrew Wooten (SV Sandhausen), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

you guys overreact too much. Despite a couple of mistakes thio summer and despite the fact that Brooks Is still developing he's still comfortably our best defender.

I want to see Omar and Brooks paired together soon.

Things are going to get very interesting as Miazga and CCV get closer and closer to being ready.

Why no Julian Green?

He's playing for the reserves in 4th division Germany. Terrible career management the past 12 months.

He looked good with the U23's at the Toulon tournament this summer, even made the tournament Best XI, but what's the really interesting is he was left off the upcoming U23 camp roster. Pretty clear message the program isn't content with his club situation.

U.S. Roster by Position:

DEFENDERS (8) : Ventura Alvarado (Club America), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Greg Garza (Atlas), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Michael Orozco (Club Tijuana), Tim Ream (Fulham)

A+

Exact same reaction I have when I see Benny left off, YET AGAIN.

I swear this guy can't call in the right squad to save his f'n life. His personnel decisions continue to be head-scratchers.

So what is everyone looking to see in the match?
