I also wear 8.5 for everything, but got an 8 for the Curry One Lows. I tried an 8.5 at first, but I had ~1" of space in front of my big toe. 8 was super snug for a week, but it's broken in very nicely. I'm using them for playing / gyming, so I prefer them more fitted. Hope this helps.

The 2's look more boxy and angular while the 1's are more curvy but they both have similar design language. The 1's still look better though.

Everyone making fun of the Curry 2s saying it looks bad and all but you have to realize that when it comes down to it it's really all about performance and giving Steph what he really needs/wants. It's not always all about looks. It could be a hideous looking shoe but an absolute beast performer, which is what it seems it could be
