In the grand scheme of it we laugh about it like “why would bro do that he’s worth millions”, lol he literally does it. If him and his homies make $300k off this release, that’s free money added to his nike/ JB contract.
It might sound stupid but this really happens. Nike/ JB doesn’t care, the end product is the shoe.. they make so much money before the end product… none of this matters to them.

at the end of the day thats what it comes down to. his homies arent as rich as he is so it probably means more to them than it does to him. no different than what the yeezy supply team used to do. the only question i have is what value does nike still see in this partnership? the stuff people will buy arent made in high enough quantities to make sense to pay him $XX million and royalties and marketing etc, and the his orginal stuff cant float at high stock. maybe keeping him locked down is worth more than the potential of him going off at another shoe brand. Although i doubt he has the pull to do that in 2025.

I think it’s exactly what you said, it’s worth more to keep him than to let him go. If he goes to adidas it’ll generate some serious hype for them and some hype for other shoes that they are currently marketing, let’s say the AE’s. Nike basketball doesn’t have direct competition for a sneaker like that, you add Travis to the portfolio and all of a sudden they’re taking market share from Nike.
Nike would rather run with Travis until he’s completely irrelevant than let him sign to another company because they know he only has a few good years left in him. Once that timer runs out nobody’s gonna want to deal with him and the swoosh wins.

I have no respect for Travis Scott at all.
Felt that way for a while now.
Anyone who builds a business model off of making a product that only a handful of elites can get and does it that way over and over and over again is a greedy douchebag in my opinion.

That being said, I don’t believe that TS has absolutely zero influence over whether his shoes are at least somewhat obtainable by ordinary simpletons like Davey Magoo. And if he tries to have his voice heard after eight years of hype releases and JB ignores him, he could always go to another brand.
And I certainly don’t believe that he doesn’t have influence over whether his shoes get backdoored from his own website.
I started my first Kool Aid stand when I was six years old.
