So death is the bar at which an activity becomes inappropriate for young children? I will let strip clubs know they should be letting anyone under the age of 18 in now as well.

Yes if the bar for being a bad parent is going to a concert with your child. So death is the bar at which an activity becomes inappropriate for young children? I will let strip clubs know they should be letting anyone under the age of 18 in now as well.
As if people have been killed a Travis concert before.

The dad of the 9 year old is 40+
Yall clowning blaming the victim. What about the 9 other people that died, that where older. Doesn't matter if you 8 or 80, you shouldn't die at a concert.
Of course. I wouldn't knowingly let my kid ride with a someone who is known to drink and had killed somebody drunk driving before. So if your kids friend hasn't gotten in a wreck drinking and driving you would allow them to ride with them? Your logic would be, well they hadn't killed anyone or gotten in a wreck yet.![]()
Personally don't think taking the kid to Astroworld was a bad idea, especially if the kid was a fan and potentially requested it.
I think most are speaking with hindsight, but there was truly no telling something like that would have happened.
You shouldn't but those other people made a conscious decision. That nine year old was the responsibility of their parent. They couldn't have gone their without him or them. They gave consent. They drove. They paid.
and it simply wasn't an event for a child and they learned the hard way, and not just a simple lesson.
How many 40 yo are aware of this tho?
You say this now, because you know the outcome. Last month you probably would have said something totally different. I remember my mom telling me she broke her arm and leg at a Michael Jackson concert in the 80s. You never know the severity of those kinds of situations before hand. I wouldn't let my kids go though, because the drug use at concerts now alone.

I'm almost 40 and had no idea people were free basing fentanyl at his concerts.D@mn y'all make it seem like 40 is ancient and know nothing about pop culture....
The parent was there so it was a bad decision considering what happened. I'd consider allowing a 9yo to go to the concert alone bad parenting. At what point does personal accountability come into play? The only way you can really blame Travis for what happened is based upon the track record of his past concerts and shows.
People have been hurt before yes, he has been arrested for inciting riots at concerts yes, Travis makes music that is meant for a mature audience also YES.
All of this information can be found with a simple Google search. No taking your child to a concert doesn't make you a bad parent but taking your 9 year old child to a TRAVIS SCOTT concert does.
Its either an unsafe situation that's not appropriate for a child and you took your kid anyways making you a bad parent, OR its an unsafe situation that you didn't research prior and took your kid too which also makes you a bad parent for not vetting where you're taking your child.
Either way you slice it. Bad Parenting.
Nah b, as a parent I would have done a simple google or youtube and see what his concerts are like.
and come back with a hell no, and that's if I'm not familiar with his music.
even at Michael Jackson, a seated concert, probably. But not one out in the open like that, because people might rush the stage to get closer.
You have the music that plays a big factor and the crowd the concert would attract. Would you want a nine year old at a Lil Durk show or Taylor Swift show? Those two things aren't equal. They aren't just concerts. You have to factor in other things.

Doesn't matter who the performer is, people are people. And being in the pit at a concert is dangerous, no matter who on stage. If you would have Googled how TS concerts was before last week, you would have seen 0 fatalities. So that argument is mute. That was literally a music festival for all ages, if you are ok with all the cursing.
So you're just playing contrarian, right? So what are you arguing again?
If I would have googled, I would have heard about the raging, seen get his fans to beat up someone over a sneaker and that he had been arrested for inciting a riot.
The argument is mute?
I'm telling you that no matter what concert you go to, people do people things.
So kids shouldn't have been there, thanks.
I never said he should or shouldn't have been there. The choice wasn't ours, but it was the responsibility of the venue to make sure everyone is safe. You stuck on this 9 year old like it was his fault, his dad was even a victim. The point still remains that people don't think they are gonna die at a concert.
