What is WEC 6?
it runs in a big circle and stops at many of the top stations in tokyo. depending on what you want to do, it could be the only train you ride during your entire stay.I heard anything on the JR Yamanote Train Line is good. Can anyone confirm?
Man, I just saw a flight from JFK to Tokyo for under 700
how much does a trip cost on average?
Been all those placesBump for a later trip this month.
HK -> Tokyo -> Kyoto -> Osaka
Will read through.
The thing is that in Osaka and especially Kyoto, JR lines aren't much of a presence as they are in Tokyo. You would still need to carry some cash for the local subways. Don't buy the kyoto pass because it doesn't even include some of the other lines, so you are better off paying individually. For Tokyo, Jr lines should be fine as they cover a lot of ground but there are some local lines that not covered by it so the 72 hour metro pass might be worth it depending how much you want to avoid walking. For all the Japan regulars or familiar with the subways, some quick questions.
Going to be in Tokyo Thursday 9/1 from HK.
Then headed to Kyoto Tuesday 9/6.
Then headed to Osaka Friday 9/9.
Then headed back to the U.S. Saturday 9/10.
So in total 10 days.
Thoughts on the best way to get around? The JR rail is 29,110yen for 7 days so we would have to adjust as needed for the other 3 days. We do not need to head back to Tokyo so just seeing if it is worth it to get the JR 7 day pass at all.
One way Nozomi from Tokyo to Kyoto is 13710 yen 2 hour 20 min ride
One way Hikari from Tokyo to Kyoto is 13400 yen 2 hour 40 min ride (Can use japan rail)
JR Kyoto Line for Osaka Station 560 yen 28 min ride
What are ya'lls thoughts?
Heading to Japan at the end of april for about 14 days.
Thinking about 6 days in Tokyo, 3 or 4 in kyoto, 4 in osaka
what y'all think? Also should i get the all access train pass?
Any must see places?
Should i go to Mt FUji
i would suggest you guys hit up nakameguro in cherry blossom season just to walk around and soak up the vibe. there's a really good ramen spot by the nakameguro train station called afuri. they put yuzu in the broth and the chashu is grilled.gonna be there in the beginning of april for cherry blossom season. friends and i plan on doing that maricar tour/experience amongst many other things. april cant get here any sooner
good looking out. I'll do 2 days, 3 nights in kyoto (i think i'll be getting free hotel stays there) and then maybe head to osaka from there.i would suggest you guys hit up nakameguro in cherry blossom season just to walk around and soak up the vibe. there's a really good ramen spot by the nakameguro train station called afuri. they put yuzu in the broth and the chashu is grilled.gonna be there in the beginning of april for cherry blossom season. friends and i plan on doing that maricar tour/experience amongst many other things. april cant get here any sooner
nakameguro (not my pic)
spicy yuzu ramen from afuri (not my pic)
one thing to not for those bound for kyoto: you travel mostly by bus in kyoto (if you don't catch a cab) and you pay when you get off the bus with the amount being dependent on how far you went.
repped for the recommendation. will def check those places out, think we may have had that on our itinerary actually. anyone have a chance to stay at a capsule hotel?
