It's also not so much an Italy vs Spain vs China vs England kind of debate. High quality footwear can be produced anywhere but depends on the nature of the shoe. Like I said before, I wouldn't even really care about that above glue mark but OP has his right to be upset since he spent his hard earned money on them. I do like to keep my shoes pristine and I clean them regularly but don't people share the same sentiment that within a few wears, a majority of shoes will be BEAT regardless. Creasing, marks, scrapes etc. Part of the game dude.
This is very true. I never understood the whole sneaker shield thing since to me the enjoyment comes from wearing shoes I like comfortably. And of cuz nothing beats the feeling of finding a gem off the clearance table.
The countries of origin is just a generalized trend I've noticed in recent years. To be fair I've seen both good and bad from various brands regardless of where they are made.
Interesting to me today I never knew Champs is owned by Foot Locker all along. I walked into downtown HOH and asked for a size 13 Lebron 14s and their handheld datalogger shows stock at the Champs across the street.
