Yes he’s largely moved onto other things but I don’t know how you say they’re doing big collabs today Can’t even remember the last time I saw someone in the wild wearing hundreds

i'm comparing them to diamond supply / crooks & castles and any of those fairfax LA brands

It already has been in a hundred bazillion articles and YouTube videos. The peak to me was 20years ago. The whole thing was built on youth, hype, exclusivity, and rampant consumerism.

Streetwear really hasn’t been the same since franalations started shilling bitcoin and nfts.

I like the new era of streetwear, though. Feels more like the beginning where it wasn’t super ultra limited hype t-shirts and more like here’s some **** that’s cool IYKYK. I think Cortez taps into that vein.

I mean maybe in comparison to some of the local brands they're comparatively still doing great even with a diminished business model, but I guess I wouldn't consider a collab with a local team that big of a deal. I admittedly know nothing about Pudgy Penguins but still doesn't speak to what I think of as a strong pairing for collaborators.

I also can't speak to the quality of product Bobby and co were producing the past 6-7 years, but I don't see anything sad about any of these brands losing their luster with the trendy hype beast folk, especially if they're still in the black annually. Not every business is run well enough to last in the long run even with excellent creatives. And most creative output peaks and fades be it music, acting, visual arts, product design, etc.
