OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET & ECONOMY THREAD VOL. SCHOOL'S OUT

Honestly. I'm not sure how today will look. Friday was a BIG down day, so it's hard to say how today will look. I'm hoping futures are up today.

Alright, I just checked and futures are down big today.

S&P futures vs fair value: -8.90.
Nasdaq futures vs fair value: -13.30.

I'd hold off getting into any positions today. Market seems to be on a downtrend. If we break support, next support is near 7,800.

Yeah I'm chilling.

Planned on scooping up some more shares in my under-invested long positions, but I dunno if this slide will be a few days, weeks, etc.

i suggest pg and dlm. dlm is cheap and i think its a great play during a recession. more and more people are staying home to eat instead of goingout and eat. they both pay dividends. but do your research first before you pull the trigger on anyone of them. out of the 2 i just mentioned i only haveshares on dlm.

sooo...much...red.

gonna take the day off, enjoy my extended weekend off...

GL to all!

imahustla08, I hope you didn't do what you said you were going to do. C is now at 2.73. You would've been down more than $2K.

BIEL looks to be way overbought. It's still bullish though. It should definitely dip. I'm seeing a black candle...

so you think i should wait to maybe around .0150?
whats your prediction to buy at?

I didnt try it out yet, btw I sold my C shares last week. I dont think you guys completely understood what I meant. I planned to scalp C, so even though itfell even more I believe I would still profit. I will let you guys know how it goes soon as I try it out.

Honestly, it's hard for me to say a price to get in at. I'd have to watch this closely intraday to get a good price.

RT looks to be a good play. Earnings come out today AH. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits $9-$10.

Ok I'm from the DMV and I noticed that over the past weekend Cricket Wireless Stores have popped up on nearly every block. I'm thinking that arelooking to trump Boost Mobile. Would this be a good play??

Here is a quick introduction to option trading:

Long Call

A trader who believes that a stock's price will increase might buy the right to purchase the stock (a call option) rather than just buy the stock. He wouldhave no obligation to buy the stock, only the right to do so until the expiry date. If the stock price increases over the exercise price by more than thepremium paid, he will profit. If the stock price decreases, he will let the call contract expire worthless, and only lose the amount of the premium. A tradermight buy the option instead of shares, because for the same amount of money, he can obtain a largernumber of options than shares. If the stock rises, he will thus realize a larger gain than if he had purchased shares. This is an example of the principle ofleverage.

Short Call (Naked short call)
A trader who believes that a stock's price will decrease can short sell the stock or instead sell a call. Both tactics are generally consideredinappropriate for small investors. The trader selling a call has an obligation to sell the stock to the call buyer atthe buyer's option. If the stock price decreases, the short call position will make a profit in the amount of the premium. If the stock price increasesover the exercise price by more than the amount of the premium, the short will lose money. Unless a trader already owns the shares which he may be required toprovide, the potential loss is unlimited. However, such a trader who sells a call option for those shares he already owns has sold a covered call.

Long Put
A trader who believes that a stock's price will decrease can buy the right to sell the stock at a fixed price. He will be under no obligation to sell thestock, but has the right to do so until the expiry date. If the stock price decreases below the exercise price by more than the premium paid, he will profit. If the stock price increases, he will just let the put contract expire worthless and only lose his premium paid.

Short Put (Naked put)
A trader who believes that a stock's price will increase can sell the right to sell the stock at a fixed price. The trader now has the obligation topurchase the stock at a fixed price. The trader has sold insurance to the buyer of the put requiring the trader to insure the stockholder below the fixedprice. This trade is generally considered inappropriate for a small investor. Ifthe stock price increases, the short put position will make a profit in the amount of the premium. If the stock price decreases below the exercise price bymore than the premium, the short position will lose money.

Covered call - Long the stock, short a call. This has essentially the same payoff as a short put. This is one of the most secure type ofoptipn plays.

Straddle - Long a call and long a put with the same exercise prices (a long straddle), or short a call and short a put with the same exerciseprices (a short straddle).

Strangle - Long a call and long a put with different exercise prices (a long strangle), or short a call and short a put with differentexercise prices (a short strangle).

Bull spread - Long a call with a low exercise price and short a call with a higher exercise price, or long a put with a low exercise price andshort a put with a higher exercise price.

Bear spread - Short a call with a low exercise price and long a call with a higher exercise price, or short a put with a low exercise priceand long a put with a higher exercise price.

RT earning estimates: 0.23 | 0.191 | 0.16 (High | Mean | Low)

I'd hate for it to rise on rumor and then a big sell off on news.
