:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

Nice job on that elephant print. I've done it on a pair of 2011 black cements because one of them had thicker print than the other smh it turned out good though

I would use another glue to use a a filler instead of shoe goo. Use an epoxy glue to fill in the scrap. You can repaint over it and it will hold the paint better than using shoe goo. The only good use I had with shoe goo is fixing the soles on xi's but it take forever to set and the bond isn't as good compared to e-6000 or barge cement.
Any particular brand of epoxy glue?

Whats the best product for conditioning the uppers on 2013 jordan high og's? I just want to make them a bit less dry...

1994 Black Cement III Sole Swap:

A lot of work went into this pair to make them close to new as possible.

I loved working on this pair. The Black Cement 3 is generally my favorite pair of sneakers hands down. The 1994 retro III is the closest mold to the original except the elephant cut is higher on the '94 retro.

A sole swap was needed for this pair as you can tell. I have also cleaned the entire shoe, repainted the nike air back tab, restitched the toecap, and redone the elephant print.

Enjoy and God bless.

Does anyone know if the OG 1's are made from real leather or synthetic? Trying to figure out what product to use on them.

Btw, Shout out to the good folks of Chamberlains for reading my NT post and sending me this as their appreciation. They have great customer service.

Might be something to look into if you live in a rainy climate or something. Water can dry out leather. I'll do a post when I get a chance and show my results

geraldg2309 geraldg2309 so i assume you are saying the black portions are the real leather and the red is the pleather?

I was looking at chamberlain #5 and it says for use with vinyl so etc so thats why i am curious how the different products will work on these shoes.

Leathermilk states it doesn't recommend #1 on faux leather.

boosthog boosthog nah I'm saying that the leather of these 1's have a blend of synthetic and actual leather.

Pleather is the cardboard leather you see on the 2013 Chicago 1's but these NAs definitely have a better leather quality than those. But it's not like a full grain, 100% leather either. Hence why I said it's kind of like a mix and/or treated differently.

For what it's worth, #1 worked great for me. But I guess I would be interested to see if #5 works great too

anyone know how to make paint for midnight 6s? I have some navy paint but its not the same color as my midnight 6s

you're gonna have to mix it yourself. Compare how dark or light the navy vi colorway is compared to the navy angelus paint. If the paint is darker, mix some white angelus. If the paint is lighter, mix some black angelus. Just make a small batch to experiment on getting the right shade. When that is completed, make a bigger batch to do both shoes with some left over for later use. This will save you from having to make that mixture later on.

 are these salvageable?

what worries me most is the torn leather at the base of the tongue.

damnit. don't let anyone borrow your loves.

Might have to wait on more awnsers from NT for that tear but deffinetly salvagable...For paints: http://angelusdirect.com/collections/paint/products/white-painthttp://angelusdirect.com/collections/paint/products/black-paint , like 15 post above a guy had repainted the elephent print which might give you some ideas...depending on whether the toe is just really dirty or is actually beginning to yellow you could use retrobrite to whiten them if its not dirt.. the scuffs on the back can either be painted over ... id use acetone to remove the paint and completly repaint repaint the midsole (take your time and make it look even and id personally use painters tape)

I was moreso referring to the tears in the leather... but as a whole, I'm debating even trying or using them as practice shoes.

thanks for those links too!

ugh. hurts me heart.

^ man i dunno about repairing the torn places, id def have to have some choice words with whoever you let borrow them cuz thats totally unacceptable regardless of who they are to you, id kill my brother/friend if they did that to my shoes but i dont trust anyone to wear mine, id say clean them up as best you can, remove the scuffs and enjoy them. they arent ruined but they arent clean anymore. sucks bro sorry to see that

it was my cousin, I took his 01 Columbias & Concords to make up for it... never wanted to put hands on him so badly in 31 years.

I don't even know how it gets torn like that though... I'm impressed AND mad.
